A light nut brown beer with a dense beige head. The aroma is nice of nuts, malt, flowers, hops, and caramel. The mouthfeel is very smooth with strong notes of caramel and lesser notes of wood, and malt.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2004 Amber coloured with creamy head. Sweet, marginally malty, not much bitterness and the nitro kills off every other flavour. On cask it is better, but not by much.

Tetley’s Original Bitter can 440ml from Morrisons. Pale chestnut clear colour with little or no beige head. Toffee malt aroma with some vague earthy hop aroma. Bit watery in mouth. More sweet toffee malt flavour in the mouth and on the finish. Not much hop presence. OK, no bad flavours, just a sweet toffee flavour and then not much, Touch of dryness on the finish.

Can, as Tetley’s English Ale, but at 3.8%. Thin flavour with a hint of green apple. Quite flat.

Can, "Draught" 3.8%
Nut brown, steady creamy beige head. Woody hoppy, a bit caramelly aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, even creamy, light bodied. Very watery, jsut faint oaky hops and then a bit of roasted caramel in the finish. More or less what you can expect from this kind of "draught" nitro beer.

Can @ Corralejo.
Pours clear pale amber with a medium, frothy, off-white head. Fizzes away slowly. Aroma is mild, light butter, toffee, caramel. Medium carbonation, light mouthfeel. Flavour has soft chewy caramel at its centre, mild piney with a fairly sharp bitterness in the finish and a touch of milky chocolate in between. Okay.

Smoothflow can. Lightly roasted caramel aroma accompanied by floral hop. Amber color with a ferocious nitro head. Really creamy head. Near medium body with very mild nitrogenation. The flavor is slightly metallic; then caramel with balancing floral hop bitter. The finish is still slightly metallic, but it’s a soothing malt and hop reminder of Jolly Old.
