2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 tgncc (2334) - Bellmore, New York, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Fairly sweet aroma, bread, caramel, flowers. The flavor follows exactly, a little more subdued. The appearance: the beer erupted into the glass, billowing white head, swirling clouds, settling into a red/copper color, white head. Obviously a nitro widget at work. Light in body, a bit watery. (again, obviously a nitro widget at work). The finish is slightly bitter, tea leaves, obscure hops, again watery. Interesting. I picked this up to increase my experience with this style. But on its own merits, I didn’t love it.

Smootflow Widget can. Pours a dark copper color with a thick creamy head th at fades very slowly with ample lacing. Aroma is on the mild side with s ome caramel sweetness and bit of roasted malt. Taste follows the aroma being a bit bland with some caramel sweetness and bit of roasted malt. Mild bitterness with a fairly clean finish. Fairly light body, smooth and creamy. Decent balance but on the bland side. Decent beer for the style and quite sessionable.
