Nice orange pour with a thick off-white head. Nice nose of floral and spicy hops. Bread, toast, and some good sweetness. The flavor is lightly bitter and has a heavy butterscotch and toffee character. Bread, floral and spicy hops, and a light bitterness on the finish.

Aroma: Slightly bready, caramel malt presence; light overall with maybe a touch of pear and basil. Appearance: Mostly clear copper body with a firm white head. Flavor: Ultra light impressions of caramel and toast up front; a bit of earthy, herbal character in the finish. Palate: Light (as air) body, thin texture, flat carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Quite hushed and non-assuming. I kinda like it; sweet in the way the timid kid at the back of class is once you give him a chance.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Can at Wembley watching Sarries get beat by Toulouse. Classic nitro crap, thought this had died with the 1990s. Brown colour with the mysterious bouncing nitro head. Devoid of smell or taste. Easy to drink but hardly satisfying.

440 ml bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf, my can says 3.6%- Pours awesomely creamy, in fact it looked like melted ice cream until the carbonation settled leaving a very hazy orange beer with a perfect cream one finger head that never goes away, one downside of the appearance is the black floaties, little black particles spread throughout the beer, hopefully they settle in the bottom of the glass. The aroma is caramel malts, sweet, vanilla, toffee. The taste is very creamy, light caramel malts and vanilla without being too sweet. Carbonation is light but not flat, body is fairly thin. I was not expecting to like this, in fact I thought this was a sure bet for the drain, but I have to admit I somewhat enjoyed it, smooth and easy drinking.

Nitro from the Smoothflow can. Semi clear copperish amber with a creamy lasting light beige head. Aroma features mild floral hoppiness with a strong creamy undertone of toffee nougat. Flavor is mild but delightful and lasting. Nice toast and english muffin tones with a certain creamy toffee flavor and light grassy/floral hop notes with no bitterness. Now, THIS is a pub ale.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
8/24/13. 16oz nitro can thanks to Homer321! Pours from the can a creamy nitro milkshake color, settles eventually to a clear amber with a 2-finger fluffy khaki nitro head that sticks, laces well. Light aroma, creamy, bready, caramel, biscuits, a touch of fruitiness and rubbing alcohol. Light bready flavor, crackers, a touch of metal, floral aspects, caramel. Not bad. Low boost.

Serving: 500 ml. can from State Line Liquors. It pours a clear gold with a creamy off white head thanks to the widget. I’m assuming the nitrogen dulled down the nose because I couldn’t get much anything. Thin on the tongue with a little caramel, wet cardboard, slight metallic note, and a weird bitterness. Smooth, light body with a thankfully short finish. It’s easy drinking, but with this kind of flavor why would you want to?

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tetley’s Smoothflow has a roiling, off-white head that builds to a medium, cream-like consistency, a deep amber appearance, with streaming bubbles and fine particles suspended throughout, and intricate, spider web lacing left behind. The aroma is rich and full: sweetness, toasted bread crust, brewers’ yeast, nut, caramel, toffee, and subtle candied fruit. Taste is of sweetness, nut shell, grain husk, tea dregs, subdued hop bitterness, white bread, and a shade of yeast. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat slick, and Tetley’s Smoothflow finishes semi-dry, sweet, mellow, and ultra-drinkable. Overall, this is a most excellent English ale!
