A well kept Tetley’s is a great session bitter. Smooth, fairly malty. Not overly bitter or powerful.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at the Roscoe Head, Liverpool. Golden with a thin white head. Just kind of sits there like a dead goldfish. A bit of caramel-toast-malt in the aroma but not much else. Bittersweet taste with the bitter asserting itself in the finish. Thin and lifeless palette. Short finish. Not actively bad but almost completely devoid of personality, like a zombie beer.

Blimey, I didn?t know you could still get this. Served through a tight sparkler, at the Valley Hotel on Anglesey. Pale brown, lightly malty nose with a touch of sulphur, softly and pleasantly bitter.

Cask in Turner’s Mill, Redcar. Amber with a white head. Surprisingly decent considering how bad the keg version is. Malty refreshing and inoffensive.

Nice slow settling golden yellow with lasting lip sticking, lacing off-white foam head. Somewhat sour aroma and taste, but not off. Nice bitter. (Humberside 201404)

On cask at Midland, Killamarsh - Expected the worst with this, amber coloured body, lasting creamy head. Hoppy grassy aroma. Sweetish, malty flavour with some butterscotch and still a fair deal of hops. Not as bad as I feared, but average.
