2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 A hint of hopping in the aroma of this red amber hued, cream headed english ale that goes down exceptionally smooth. The major detracting quality is the virtual lack of carbonation. Re-rated 12-30-07 - Easy drinking, good English Pub Ale with restrained flavors.

Nice looking beer, but I found the end result lacking, decent flavoring but I found it rather flat.

My roomate loves this stuff. Too creamy for me though, and that taste mixed with the bitterness is just not my style. However, a lot of other people seem to appreciate it.

Very nice beer. Reminds me of Caffery’s. Has a very smooth creamy flavor, with a mixture of sweet and bitter aftertastes. This is a really good drinking beer, but only for a few because it’s thick.

Awesome looking beer when poured in to a glass! Nice head from the wiget. Can’t wait to try this one again.

Personally I have been impressed with the widget, and it works well with this beer. Has a very smooth creamy flavor, with a mixture of sweet and bitter aftertastes. This is a really good drinking beer, but only for a few because it’s thick.

Beautiful pour of course, as with most of this style. Pine like hop bitterness, but overall quite watery.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2003 I about tossed it after the first swig, but after that it really settled down into a very good brew. I found that the carbonation was lacking, but the flavor was still there. The widget flow thing is still cool to look at when you pour it.

Creamy longlasting head (due to widget I’m sure)leaves a thick lacing on the glass. Dark amber full bodidied beer. Very malty but balanced with hop flavor with a real warming finish. Not overly hoppy but kind of sweet like a wine. A really good looking beer.
