COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nitro Keg Ale and Canned Widget Ale. An export strength beer brewed specifically for countries outside the UK. It has the same smooth and creamy characteristics as Tetley's Smoothflow and incorporates a full drinking flavour. It is well balanced with a complex range of malty and hoppy notes, enhanced by a fruity aroma. Like Tetley's Smoothflow, it is served at 8°C to give extra refreshment.

50 cl can, Fargo, ND, USA. The widget did it. Tumultuous build which wet the appetite. Settled to a creamy thick head with a honey coloured body. Skunky aroma with some faint honey and caramel. Watery with the creaminess contributing some.

On tap. Poured a slightly hazy amber gold with a thick white head that lasts throughout. Aroma was a bit weak with hay malt notes and not much else. Flavor was weak as well with malt notes through out.

On draught. Weak golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma of grass and faint stale hops. Slightly watery taste of bitter hops, grass and malt. Average english at best.

can on 9/28/2009. it pours coppery with a huge widget induced white head which leaves webby trails of foam behind. mild aroma... honey, woody, slightly warming earthy spices, sweet grain and a eucalyptus-like herbaceous quality. the flavor is pretty much the same.... weird herbal notes with a woody honey-like sweetness and a dry finish. actually, it doesn’t taste like much. the body is medium and fun to drink when freshly poured. as it sits, it becomes lifeless, flat and watery. 5/4/5/3/10/2.7

Can. A truly stunning pour with some of the best lacing I have ever seen. Not much character going on some smoothed out slight maltyness which is highlighted by the velvety texture of the brew. Really not much going on aroma-wise. Eh

UPDATED: APR 14, 2011 (can and tap multiple times)

copper with a dense beige head and creamy medium carbonation.

aroma: pizza crust.

taste: creamy and buttery T1, mildly hoppy T2, slightly hop bitter T3.
not much malt flavor, in fact, i’d say most of the flavor in this beer comes from the yeast esters, and byproducts like diacetyl.
there is also a notable unpleasant flavor, like kitchen trash or something like that, but it’s not real strong, especially while cold.

overall it is refreshing and has a great texture, but is best drank cold and quickly.

Easy drinking, solid bitter, but the nitrogen plays havoc with your stomach. i would rather drink this than a pale lager.

Palate is smooth, finishes rather sweet. smell and taste just aren’t there for me on this one. Very creamy. to be expected.. Overall ok but not great.
