Cask at the Wenlock Arms on 16/8/09. Very dark brown-black with off white diminishing head. Main flavour is caramel/roasted malt and a few creamy lactic notes. Soft carbonation and a flattish texture, smooth drinking

Cask (handpump), Blue Ball, York, October 2006. Not the most exciting mild but I suppose if you are going to drink the quintessential Yorkshire mild you might as well do it standing at the bar in the tiny front room of probably the most quintessential Yorkshire pub. The beer is too innocuous to offend.

Cask at Bull’s Head, Monyash, Derbyshire. Reddish brown with an off white head. Malty aroma. Faint but not unpleasant taste with sweet malt and a bit of ash. Smooth and easy to drink.

Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark black red beer with no head. Musty over cold bee, life wrung out of it. A little fruitiness and nuts but a very poorly made mild.

Cask. Malty, syrupy aroma. Thin and a bit watery. Firm licorice flavor. Some toasty bitterness. Hardly any lacing. Deep ruby brown color. Traces of a head. Hardly any sweetness. Well made mild.

Unremarkable but not bad.
