bartlebier (1760) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - APR 9, 2013
2x50cl bottle at brewery and later at home 03/04-2013. - Not spectacularly, but distinctly finely hopped (Tettnanger, obviously), almost pilsner-like Helles that tops many Bavarian liquid-spicy cardboards. Typically SW-sweetish marzipan malt back, but crips and lean texture and mouthfeel. Good Helles-Pilsner that leaves some room for their extra-Tettnanged Pils.

Bottle. It’s an unclear one, pale golden in color, and topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is fruity and lighlty buttery, with a grassy and hay-ish touch. The flavor is a tad better, but with the same fruityness and butterscotchy malts. Some bitterness towards the end. Medium body, dry on the palate, with an appropriate carbonation. Bitter finish. Well, not my favorite, but quite decent. Would like it less buttery thouch. 130216
