3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
651 ml. bottle. Pours a thin, poorly retained beige head, with no lacing, over a clear brownish black (SRM35) body.....nose is heavy roasted malts, with dominant coffee, lighter chocolate, no esters, minimal hops, balance to the malts.....taste is heavy roasted malts, coffee, light chocolate, cocoa, moderate toffee/caramel type sweetness, no esters, finishing with an herbal hop bitterness, almost balanced, with a lean to the malts......mouth feel, medium body, light alcohol warmth, slightly sticky, light tingling carbonation, with minimal acid. This is a nice rendition of a Robust Porter. it is reasonably balanced, slightly sweet and dominated by the roasted malts. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black brew with a very thin head that didn’t hold. Smells of roasted and chocolate malts. Taste is roasted and chocolate malts with a mild off burnt taste. Decent porter but for the BIG price there are better ones that cost less. *side note: noticed others saying they got a nice head and such. Maybe my bottle just didn’t turn out right. If I am feeling up to another $7 bottle in the future I might have to check this one again.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
22 oz. beer served in a shaker- poured a non transparent solid black color, one finger tan/black head formed but quickly and quietly went away to a 2mm thick one after you tell it that it lost a war. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, veggie oil, and some chocolate-meh. Hits the mouth with a medium body, dark chocolate is everywhere, almost sweeping the malt away, a chalky sensation in the middle laced with cinnamon, finish has some smoke. Meh...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Deep deep brown, thin to moderate frothy pale tannish head, spotty lacing.   Soft roasted malts, a little lactose tartness, some coffee beans and bakers chocolate.   Very pale roasted malts up front.   A little tin like.   Not a lot of hop to this one.   Very minor dark or bakers chocolate.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Comes across as very pedestrian by the finish, not big on any Porter aspect.   A lighter example, with a slight metallic/tin note.   Meh...   Thanks Bill!
