3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 50belair (933) - Florida, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Bottle drank at Polpo Matto. Murky brown pour with an of white head. Sweet malty aromas with a hint of dark fruits. More like an abbey quad in my opinion. Good carbonation, in fact maybe a little over carbonated. Medium mouthfeel. Lots of sweet malty notes, caramel, a hint of chocolate, and some dark fruit. A slight off flavor developed as the ale warmed up.

Thick opaque brown reddisj beer with a weak head. The smell is rather alcoholic and sweetish, with suggestions of banana, strawberries and overripe peaches and hints of chocolate. The taste is watery and bitter with an apple finish and some spices. Rather alcoholic overall

Bottle from Jumbo supermarket, Den Burg, Texel, Netherlands, 27.09.11 consumed outside Frank (camper) at Den Hoorn campsite, Texel island the same evening Pours dark chestnut with a rich glint of garnet and a light beige head, touch hazy. Soft in the mouth, very, very deceptive for a 10% beer. Lots of banana and toffee, bit creamy, some warmth from the alcohol at rear of mouth, some vanilla showing also, it’s very nice.
