Kastanjebruin, redelijk helder bier met een medium beige schuimkraag die lang aanwezig blijft. Alcohol is meteen merkbaar in het aroma, verder ook vijgen, mout, metaal. Smaak is behoorlijk zoet.

10/11/8/12/12/12

March but still cold. My birthday today so a good time to open a big bottle and drink it alone. 750 ml bottle, with a crown cap that states the bottling date is 10/2010. ABV 10%. Poured into a snifter. Deep red amber to brown colour on the body, with two fingers of thick, tan head. Very good retention, almost no lacing on the glass. Heavy, appealoing aroma of dark fruits, alcohol, light caramel and a bit of vanilla. Taste follows the nose. Lots of dark fruits, caramel and the alcohol not so notable on the taste but mostly traceable from the warming feeling it gives. Aftertaste is moderate bitter. Medium thick on the body, average carbonation. Nice bock, strong and tasty.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass black, nice head. Strong aroma. Starts strong, quite alcoholic-fruity. Has a fresh-alcoholic note with fruity touches that reminds me of a champagne. Well balanced finish, a bit milder and less alcoholic. Very interesting.

11/XI/12 - 75cl bottle from BierNavigatie (webshop, NL) @ Cybu’s place - BB: X/2021 (2012-1266) Thanks to Cybu for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark red brown beer, small aery beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: dried fruits, caramel, pretty sugary, mocha, little smoky touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: chocolate, bit sour, cocoa powder, dried fruits, overripe fruits, bitter, little chemical. Aftertaste: dried fruits, chocolate, hoppy, figs, overripe banana, pretty bitter.

langeveld12 (216) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 14, 2012
Small light brown creamy head that quickly disappears. Body is flat, dark ruby red. Aroma of fruits (cherries, lemon), spices, caramel and roasted malts. Also some alcohol. Flavor initially quite sweet and light acidic, to finish sweet and light bitter. Body is medium with dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall a bit too much of the alcohol which makes it unbalanced. Still ok, though.

Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam
Beautiful dark amber, mahogany color with creamy head. Caramelly and sweetish beer, with a bit too much fusels character, alcoholic, boozy.

Bottle at home. Hazy dark brown pour with a reddish hue. Tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, some roasted malts, bready yeast. Flavor is raisins, sugary malts, some roasted malts, licorice, a hint of brandy and a bit alcoholic. Quite powerful and clean. A bit on the sweet side, but still well drinkable. Decent brew.

On tap at Meneer Jansen. Poured a bright brown with a tan head. Aroma of sweet roast malt and dry fruit. Moderate body, flavour of mild fruity malt, minimal aftertaste.
