pitch black body with a finely-bubbled brown head. intense nose of fresh ground coffee beans. oily and slick coffee character sits on top of a roast-heavy grain bill. it’s thick, it’s moderately astringent, it’s hefty, and it has the green oiliness of rich espresso, complete with the frothy crema character. tasty, but I’m easily impressed by coffee stout.
