Draft from Angel’s Trumpet, served in a pint glass. Pours a nice, clear amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted and caramel malts, fried sweet nuts, cereal, and dusty, dry grains. The flavor is similar - caramel, toast, grains, nuts - but also has a hint of dark fruit. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, toasty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Marked "Altbier" despite the 8.5% ABV; drinks like a doppelbock. Good beer, either way.
