COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This cider is made from the single apple variety called Katy, and is a soft sparkling, medium dry cider at 7.4% abv. The full fruity flavor of the apple is retained as the cider matures in oak vats to produce a deliciously cool and refreshing drink.

Bottle. Pours a lively white head that instantly dissipates. Aroma is of apples. No alcohol on the nose. Oaky, fruity. Sweet. Crisp and dry on the finish. Refreshing.

pleasant medium sweet apple aroma and taste. Quite mild aroma and taste. pale yellow colour. There’s nothing special about this but a very easy drinking and pleasant high abv cider if u want to get drunk easily.

500 ml bottle. Pale yellow colour, no head. Sweetish, slightly tart apple aroma with some earthy notes. The flavour is surprisingly light, with sweetish apple and some oaky notes, and a alcohol little warmth in the finish. Drinkable, but a little disappointing.

A dry single variety cider. It’s okay, nicer than other of its type. I sometimes buy this to annoy my wife cos her name is Katie. With an ie not a y. Then I taunt her. But really not that great.

I’ve seen some single hop ales, at Portland I tasted a single malt beer from Rogue – and now I am having a single variety cider. What next?

Aroma has apples, some leathery and earthy notes. Flavour has somewhat floury apples and some leathery notes. Too sweet, perhaps I should stick to the most dry ciders.

[Bottle from Landon Beck YHA - thanks Cat for sharing] Gold, rather fizzy. Aroma is peach, vinegar sourness and old, over-ripe apples. Sweet at first without being too sticky, in fact it would be rather a good, full mouthfeel if it wasn’t for the annoying fizz. However, the flavour is not great, being on the light side for the ABV, and with a little too much vinegar. Leaves no lasting taste in the relatively crisp finish; in fact gives the impression of being a much lower ABV than it is. So overall not great, but more drinkable than some.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, light straw yellow. Fruit and confectionery aromas mix with quite tart apple and a slightly sour and vaguely unpleasant hint of lemon. There is a faint hint of tart apple up front, but it is overcome by a sour lemon flavour, which persists right through to the finish, and is far from pleasant. There are some redeeming sweeter, fruity flavours, but they struggle to make their presence felt through the overly sour taste. There is something really wrong with this cider, which is disappointing from such a reputable cidery. It’s not just a bit unpleasant, it’s almost Aston Manor unpleasant, which is not an insult to be taken lightly. Don’t waste your time on this one.

Mid golden orange coloured cider, fizzy with a quickly disipating head. Very faint sweetish apple aroma with some earthy notes. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dry taste, faint appley flavour, slightly honeyed with a hint of lemon and lime.
