4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Described as a Citra bomb and I donít doubt it, but it pulls off the citra showcase better than most.
Hop hazed pale gold with a decent if smallish head.
Aroma of tropical fruit, mango and a touch of lime.
High but not too high bitterness, light pale malt sweetness and then tons of fresh hop flavor. Lots of tropical fruit and west coast hops. Wow.
Good dryness and extremely smooth bitterness. This beer is seriously damn smooth for how bitter and high abv it is.
Overall this ranks among the best IIPAs Iíve had to date, and the competition is stiff. Good job The Address!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled on tap at 1702; July 2012
Arrives from the tap with a fat-one-finger thick, lightly tan colored head; the hops allow this to leave some nice lacing on the sides of my glass. The beer is a lightly hazed, pale amber color that shows a pretty pale amber color when held up to the light. The aroma is hugely floral; ample notes of roses, perhaps not quite that spicy, so carnations, as well as citrus blossom notes. Ample tropical fruit notes meld in with the floral notes; I get specifics of guava (which is just huge), some sort of strawberry note that jumps out, and just lots of generally floral and tropical notes.
Somewhat sweet tasting, again with a huge floral & tropical fruit character, there is also a spicy kick of alcohol and bitter, slightly peppery hops. Much of the sweetness is perceived, this beer does finish pretty light and ultimately dry; has a dry, lingeringly bitter, slightly herbal hop character. The honey character really seems to boost the floral notes in this beer. There is lots of fruit character in this beer, guava for sure, some definite lychee, as well as lots of super ripe citrus (leaning towards kumquat, tangelo and some candied citrus character), more exotic, floral / tropical fruit notes that are just so expressive, but hard to nail down as a specific fruit. The tropical fruit character almost has a funky (in a hop way) edge to it somehow. This beer is quite light bodied and quaffable; I really like that it has more body than the regular Rainy Day, it really allows the fruit flavors from the hops to come out much more expressively, despite the body and viscosity that this does have, this is most definitely a beer that is dangerously quaffable.
A fantastically hoppy beer, that is a slam dunk for the hop heads. The tropical fruit and floral character here is really quite unique; this has really got to be driven by the honey, as Citra and Nugget just donít get to this point on their own. I highly recommend getting this if you can (given the batch size and distribution that might be a bit of an impossibility), but the tropical fruit notes in this beer are just so intriguingly fantastic. It can be a touch hot in the finish, but the hop character is a bit too interesting for this to remotely be an issue.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ 1702 - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a nice size off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is big floral, citrus, and pine hops. Flavor is also full of big hops and just enough malt sweetness to give it a little backbone. Finish is bitter but smooth. No astringency. Medium body. The alcohol is fairly well hidden. A very good 2IPA. It will be interesting to see how this beer does at the GABF.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
5 oz. draft at 1702.
The Address bills this beer as a "Citra Monster IIPA" and claims itís 130 IBU. I donít know about the IBU rating, but it is a citra monster, and it is delicious! This is simply one of the best IIPAs Iíve ever had. Great nose and flavor, tons of mango and nice mouth feel and balance.
The Address is a nano-brewery. Only 30 gallons of Very Rainy Day were made, and itís only available on draft. Itís really a shame that more people will not get to enjoy this beer.
