Bottle. Pours darkish brown with small tan head. Aroma is quite hoppy, mostly citrus. Some sweet, roasty aromas linger in later. Flavor is predominately pine and grapefruit, but is a bit muddled with the roasty efforts. Smooth finish; easy drinker.

Clear medium dark brown pour with a tan head. Grapefruit, tropical fruit, piney hops, roasted malt, and light toasted bread. I like it, pretty dry and hoppy.

Pours medium brown color with tan head. Grapefruit and line aromas with some toasted malts. Quite bitter grapefruit rind flavor with some pine and moderately roasted malts. Medina body with average carbonation.

I forget the exact color, nice medium coarseness tan head. Aroma is a blast of citrus, orange, lemon, bit of pineapple (wow), light body, smooth, not prickly, mild grapefruit and pine sap, moderate-to-huge smooth bitterness, touch of clean grain, not very sweet, only a touch of bark.

Bottle. Chernozem black/brown with medium tan head. Much lacing. Sprucey and piney hop aroma. Full bodied, hoppy with a nice roast malt tinge. Hop finish. Worth seeking out.

Bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Very nice aroma of hops, grapefruit. Nice malt flavor, chocolate, but balanced with the citrus hops. Very well done beer.

Dark mahogany with big, foamy, beige head / Big nose of weed and dirt (like a good bag of pot) / Light body, crisp with a hint of sweetness, with big hops and long finish / Bright, elegant, flavors of weed, pineapple, orange, cut pine, and a hint of chocolate / Great, great.

Bottle @ home. Fairly cloudy, deep brown appearance with a light brown head that dissipates pretty quickly leaving a few large bubbles. Super piney, ganja, very resiny hoppy, roasted dark malty aroma. Huge resiny, piney hoppy, sitcky, organic, roasty dark chocolate malty flavor. Resiny, roasty aftertaste. Really a big resiny, ganja flavored black IPA. I may be picking up some more of this, though it is a little pricey for a single 12 oz.

6 jan 2012, bottle. Med/dark nut brown, faintly cloudy. Nose is big, thin grapefruit citrus. Thin body and fizzy. Light burnt coffee malt in the background but dominant taste is thin, butter grapefruit rind. Not my favorite style of ipa.

Pours more brown than black (haha) with some floaties and haze, flawless beige head. Aroma is tropical fruits, papaya, guava, gooseberry, lime, passionfruit, hint of roast. Taste is same as aroma, huge tropical fruit followed by honey and a touch of coffee. body is medium, creamy smooth, lowish carbonation, dry roasted fruity finish. Overall, a perfect black IPA which uses all of my favorite new hops.
