12 oz bottle. Pours a nut brown color. Aroma is wonderfully hoppy with crisp citrus notes. Flavor is a great balance of roast and hops. Finishes smooth and clean. Mmmm Mmmm good

Has a smooth palate, rich chocolate/coffee flavor with an amazing hop finish. Best beer I’ve ever tasted.

An interesting take on the dark IPA, one of my personal favorite beer styles. Poured a dark brown with a full light brown head. The mixture of citrus hops with the roast from the dark malts doesn’t work very well. It certainly has a good bitterness and some astringency to it. Overall, a good beer, but there are definitely better black IPAs to choose from.

12oz bottle purchased somewhere in CO. Poured cloudy with a thick creamy head. Opaque redidh brown. Much more brown than black. Very light lacing. Aroma was strong grapefruit with light pine and a surprising dark fruit maltiness. The flavor was similar to the aroma with a bit sweetness followed by long lasting medium bitterness. Marvelous mouthfeel. Feels bigger than it is.

Pours a root beer color with a lot or floaties throughout.. definitely smells of an ipa. A slight touch of pine and then grapefruit and orange peels. Taste comes through just a little bitter/hoppy but rounds out pretty nicely with more orange flavors than anything else. Mouth feel is chalky and yeasty. Was an OK beer but the cloudiness didn’t do it for me.

Pours black, dark brown when held up to light. Hops aroma isn’t strong, malt dominates the aroma. Tastes a lot lighter than it looks, but still robust in flavor. Lingering flavors redeem some of the previous "disappointments" in the beer and leave me impressed overall.

The hoppy aroma is not as pronounced as some other brews. But the true brown color of this massive brew is totally awesome. The brown taste shows through almost like you are tasting three brews, a brown, a stout and a black at once. Full bodied, with a thin texture happens to be fizzy on the tongue with a true IPA finish, yet also with a good deal of smoke. Recommended for just about everyone that likes strong IPA’s.

Pours a dark brown color with frosty tan head. The immense hop taste mixed with natural roast flavor make this a brew for a hop head who loves massive flavor

Bottle. Pours medium brown with tan head. On the nose aromas of grapefruit, dark coffee, earth, hay, cocoa. On the palate the grapefruit/citrus arrives first, quickly followed by the roasty/earthy/hay plus some smoke on the midpalate, and finishing with more of the citrus and some cocoa. Overall medium bodied , balanced and dry on the finish, another classic example of the Stone house style. An interesting, balanced effort

This is the most citrusy beer Ive ever had. The aroma is up there with the best DIPA’s and I literally taste grapefruit exploding in my mouth.
