750mL from Corvallis. WARNING: This one may blow up on you. My bottle was more than happy to gush over. A: Darkened orange with a fluffy, lasting white head. Some yeast floating around in this one, which is probably a result of the turbulent opening. N:Well integrated funk and ample white wine grape, oak, lemon zest. Getting some of the brandy with a nice sweet overture. This smells very inviting. T: Slightly soured, very oaky, and quite sweet. This has a lot of interplay between those elements with some nice cherry and wine grape to add some fruitiness/citrus. Slightly earthy. M: Medium bodied/slightly full with a round mouthfeel. O: Overall a really nice addition to Ale Apothecary’s lineup. While not quite as strong as the regular Sahalie I’ve had, this is still worth seeking out. Though it does have a scary high ABV so be warned.

Bottle at Bruces, from TGG Bend, 31/07/13. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Nose is vinous, tarte apricots, bitter orange, light funk, subtle burnt citric fruit notes. Taste comprises tarte orange, soured apricots, lemon rind, light boozey tones, funky notes, grassy farmy light earthy notes. Medium bodied with a little oomph, fine carbonation, dry finish, The alchohol is very well integrated or a double digit affair - great work!

Bottle at Bruce’s, many thanks to Colin. It pours cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. The nose is hay, floral, orange, sour apricot, peach, mild sourness, sherbet, yoghurt, vanilla and light coconut. The taste is sour apricot, peach, nectarine, pleasant sourness, sherbet, hay, floral, touch of vinegar, butternut squash and some alcohol warmth. Medium body, high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Hides abv rather well. Very well-integrated flavour. Great stuff!

Amber blond with fizzy white head. Aroma is muted with a bit of funk. Flavor is sweet and a bit tart, really clean and refreshing. Body is thicker than expected. Good beer overall.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Huge thanks to Colin for providing yet another beer from this fine brewery. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a foamy white head. Nice sour, lightly acidic lemon in the nose, hints of peach. Light sweet flavor, good funk, some ripe lemon, light semi-dry dough, subtle, light brett, sweat. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more lemon and peach, some tangerine, soft dough. Very smooth for the strength. Nice nuance.

Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a medium cloudy golden color, lots and lots of white head, totally exploded! Aroma heavy on grapes and funk, yeast. Vinous notes as well. Taste of yeasty malty sweetness; body not as much as you might think: lively but not so tart. Finishes with an oaky, toffee sweetness. A lot going on here, very impressive!

750, corked and strung. Yeah, strung. Thanks so much, j&a! You guys are so cool for bringing this back. What an awesome surprise. Pours cloudy medium amber with a dense and sudsy white head. Sweetly vinous brandy nose tucked hand in glove into some fruity and balsamicy sour aromatics. Not quite like anything else. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Vinous, strawberry, and balsamic tang on the mid palate. Nice tart finish. Delicious. Harmonious, unique, flawless, and refreshing. These guys are just flat gettin’ in and gettin’ it.

timfoolery (1123) - California, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Bottle from The (new) Beer Stein in Eugene. Aroma is slight brandy, olive, (non-diatectyl) popcorn, and white wine. Flavor is much of the same... more white wine and popcorn comes through. This one isn't crazy sour, but it's an excellent mix of all the above flavors and slightly tart. Excellent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ a recent tasting... Poured golden with a little to no head. I was surprised how much brandy came through on this. Low bitterness, subtle yeast spice and funk with wood, fruit, and a spirit cocktail-like character added warming boozy notes. Each sip seemed different as this really opened up. A true pleasure to drink.
