Bottle opened up at the 2013 year end Ottawa tasting, thanks Ian. Pale golden yellow with a nice white head. Dry and chardonnay, lemon zest, clove, brett, pepper, slight funk and barnyard, apricot. Dry, moderate carbonation and nice body, easy to drink, nice slight funk and bretty.

Bottle shared at the November 2012 Santa Cruz tasting. Bizarre blend of herbal notes, mainly ginger but also a sort of Ricola-like character. Sweet doughiness, pale malts, set against a vinous acidity.

HMOG 2015. Thanks to jrob21 for bringing. Tried two batches. Older batch was actually a bit more enjoyable. Vinous, wine/oak, spices, with a touch of funk. Funk comes through much more in the newest batch.

750 ml corked bottle. Bottled 10/18/13; 10.24% ABV. Aroma is bretty, vinegar, lemon, earth, light wood, fan-freaking-tastic. Pours hazy golden with a two-finger white head with decent retention. Taste is lightly sweet, sour (6/10 on a sour scale), finishing savory. Nice sauvignon blanc character, along with some green apple, peach. Not quite champagne-like in effervescence, but quite highly carbonated. Very different and unique.

On the verge of exceptional. Think if there was a soured table beer. This is it! Light golden pour, slight foamed white head. Lovely light notes of champagne, funk, spices, and applely pear cider on the nose. Slight tart meets dirt and barnyard on the palate. Funk, sweet white wine, lemon, aged hop, champagne, and cider all over the palate, politely, never overbearing. Effervescent. A dainty mouthful. Hints of oak come out a bit more towards the finish. Pricey beverage at $25.99 a 750ml, but I’d do it again. Loud, quietly. Seem to be enjoying that maturity in a brew these days...

Really liked this one. Pours light straw some head. Notes of barnyard, yeast and lemon. Tastes were medium to big sour. Good acidic bite in mouth.

Bottle of the 2013. Golden with a good white head and visible carbonation. Aroma is funky, white wine, elderflower, other random botanicals. Medium-light bodied, very soft mouthfeel, slightly sweet & floral on the palate with a funky tart & slightly spicy finish. Taste is elderflower, juniper, white wine, mango.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2014 Pale cloudy light golden. Light white ringed head. Soft soapy dusty lemon. Gummy citrus. Clinks of passionfruit. Clean and sweet. Faint stewed pineapple. Very clean and neat. Smashing through with such an ABV without any harshness from the length of time in barrell.

Bottle, Independence Tasting, thanks to Paul for the long haul

Bottle @ Levis. Tons of brett, lemon. Refreshing and bright. Not a ton of tartness.

750 ml bottle, batch October 18 2013- Pours slightly hazy golden on the first pour with a foamy two finger white head that slowly reduces but never quite goes away and nice sheeting lace. Aroma is pungent, citrusy, tart, wet basement, brett. The taste lives up to the aroma, funky bretty goodness, yeasty, not as tart as the aroma led on, not sure which type of wine barrels they used, but I would hope it was something like sauvignon blanc, but I could be way off on that. Body is medium and carbonation is high. Very much enjoyed this massively complex brew.
