At the Barossa Valley Cider Company we spend most of our time finding the juiciest South Australian apples to squash to make our delicious cider. It has a full rich and creamy flavour, with a perfect balance of fruit sweetness and acid – accentuated with a crisp mouth feel of freshly squashed apples. Serve cold or pour over ice on a very hot day.

330ml bottle from Dan Murphy’s, Hurstville. Straw yellow colour, white foam head and slight apple aroma. Taste is apple, fruity, melon, sweetish. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry lightly tannic finish. OK.

Tap. Just hazy yellow. Aroma of raw and some cooked apples, dry ginger ale. Tastes of sweet apples, some acidity at the end. Rather dull and oversweet.

Straw yellow with minute, intermittent carbonation. Very clean and straight-forward, whole apple pulp nose audibly bursting with CO2 gas. Medium sweet apple juice front, supple fruit finish with light acid. Well carbonated, crisp and clean. Featherweight in body. Not much here. Dangerously drinkable but one dimensional. A crowd pleaser for those who like a simple cider. (33cL, no date stamp, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)
