3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask at the brewpub, London. Pours a hazy, red-brown with a weak, white foam head. Has a nice and smokey nose with some ham and ripe, dark fruits. Light to medium sweet flavor with light to medium smokiness, some leafy bitterness, some wood and dirt, toasted sugars. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Light to medium (lo, a trend!) sweet to finish with some faint cured ham, good lasting smoke, some grapes and berries. It’s a decent smoked beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the Botanist, dark amber with a soft light amber head and lots of peat on the nose. Malty and lightly bitter, very smoky and peaty - could be overwhelming to some, perhaps. Some bitterness coming through in the finish. Nice stuff.
