Couple of pre-match pints in The Crown, Nuneaton, 09/04/12. Orange gold with a generous, persisting white collar. Intense, stripped-back bitterness; grapefruit, stewed but flowery TT-like hop with celery and Darjeeling notes smoothed out with a lick of creamy malt. Urinal, grapefruit, toilet rug, dishcloth lemon and lime aroma. Pungent, quinine-bitter. You’ve got to be in the mood for hops to take this one on. A lovely, pungent smack in the face.

16th April 2012 Old Fountain. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy white head. Light dry palate. Initially dry and astringent, it takes awhile for the hop fruit to kick in. When it does there is mango, orange pith and a touch of lemon. Dry finish with good bitter linger. Just a tad too bitter on the start.
