Draft. Poured clear black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted dark rye and hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

bottle to snifter that pours a dark brown with a light mocha colored head, some decent lacing on the glass. medium malt base that is medium roasted, hints of chocolate malts and hops that are more grassy than anything on the nose. the flavor is some medium roasted malt bitterness, slight chocolate malts and plenty of hops middle and the end. flavors are not a jumbled mess they are pretty separated and blended well. this is a really good black ipa.

Black IPAs are mostly a hoppy stout. Right? This is a chocolatey? Roasty toasty stout with a bunch of hops. I had some cooler ranch Doritos before and during. Those were better. 5/5 for cooler ranch doritos. The beer doesnt suck but it isnt good. Its a bad hoppy stout. Screw you Black IPA.

Bottle@home, from Heinen’s, Cleveland, USA. Medium aroma with slightly sweet dark berries, a hint of toffee notes. Pitch black color with small light beige head. Strong balanced taste with slightly parfymic black berries, hops and some malts. Somewhat simple. Medium taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with hops and malts. Medium/light body with medium carbonation. Overall, very decent although bit artificial and with light mouth feel.
