COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This marzen is made in the traditional German style but is smooth across the palate and very much on the lighter side. Nice malt aroma with a semi-sweet lingering flavor.

This one poured a darker orange with an off white head. Aroma was of caramel nuts and dried fruits. Flavor was similar, overly sweet and not toasted. Caramel bomb.

superspak (2203) - Michigan, USA - OCT 30, 2013
12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, 2013 bottling. Pours fairly crystal clear orange amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, toast, biscuit, pear, apple, pepper, herbal, nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, pepper, pear, apple, nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pepper, pear, and apple on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of malt and yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oktoberfest style! All around well balanced and robust malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Draft. Clear copper with a will of white head. Mildly bitter and easy drinking. Some light spice comes through, but it isn’t overbearing by any means.

phaleslu (5875) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 16, 2013
Draft pint at Moerlein Lager House. Pours a clear orange-hued gold with a small off-white head that leaves some lace streaks and spots. The aroma is very light, with toast, sugar, banana chips, and paper. Flavor of toast, grass, wet hay, sugar, banana, and wet leaves. Light-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel with minor balancing bitterness and a finish that dries out. Not a very strong Oktoberfest offering.

JaBier (4532) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Sample at TBK on 10/11/13. Clear amber in color with a thin beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, bread and lager yeast. Malty flavor with lager crispness, some caramel and light bread before a clean finish.

mcnealc31 (248) - Elida, Ohio, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Crisp and clear, perhaps a shade darker orange than most marzens. Aroma is malty and grassy. Quite nice body to this. One drawback some marzens can have is a watery body, but this doesn’t have that problem at all. Chewy and full of flavor. Tasty blend of malts with just enough hops to make you notice at the end. 6% ABV. Very nice marzen!

Bottle pour deep golden. Nose sweet malt, hint of apple, minimal spice. Taste syrupy malt, toffee, molasses. Malty mid palate. Slighy spicy bitter finish. Reasonable drinking beer, but nothing setting apart from others.
