Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark orange color. head was thin and off white without much lacing. Aroma and flavor was dominated by vegetables. Celery and grass were the dominant elements. There was also a bit of toasted bread. Dry and modestly bitter on the tongue. Wasn’t wild about this one.

Sampled in Truckee. A nice brew. Aroma was fair but the key was the appearance. Was very dark red with a thick head. One of the best amber ales i have had. Mouthfeel is smooth and the flavor is nice and hoppy.

Very good amber. The description said it had good caramel flavor. I didn’t detect any caramel at all whatsoever, but there was plenty of roasted malt present. A nice surprise. This was more of a light porter than it was an amber ale. Still very good though.

Toasted biscut with honey sweet and malty followed by a crispy floral hop. Balance is the key. A frothy head that stuck to the plastic cup that this beer was served in.(a sin).

Tap. A mahogany brown reddish color. Lots of caramel and burnt malts. The first sip was rewarded with a cherry fruit flavor. Not being an amber fan, I was very impressed with this beer.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 This beer really rocks.
The color is a beautiful Mohogany/Amber. The aroma is very malty and very fruity. Both really come through in the flavor as well. Very malty with a big fruity flavor (plums), but not sweet. The finish is crisp and clean. Just a terrific amber ale.
