Overall pretty good porter, not too dark with chocolate and deliciousness consumed with friends

"also a letdown due to my general liking of the style. this one had a subpar aroma and flavor and was a tad thin on the mouthfeel. really nothing special. 6/09: all creamy (but thin) malt and feel. zero hop balance. wouldnít be good even for a brown or mild. big letdown...again."

Draft, Blackish beer with a tan head. Light coffee and light chocolate aroma wit caramel. Caramel and chocolate flavor. Medium bodied. Caramel and chocolate lingers.

Poured into a shaker pint at the brewery while sitting outside enjoying the view. From notes, July 27, 2012. A: Very roasty with chocolate and earthy notes as well as faint coffee notes. A: Poured a translucent ruby brown with a frothy head that dissipated almost instantly, laces in rings and looks tasty. T: Full of barley, lightly sweet with a good hop finish to clean-up the finish without being to harsh on the tongue. P: Medium body, maybe even watery, actually a little light for a porter. Low carbonation. Silky and smooth with a nice finish. O: Undoubtedly one of the better beers at Tahoe Brewing Company. The menu proudly proclaims that it is a lighter porter and I would agree. BY FAR the best beer Iíve had at this brew pub.

On tap at brewery. Dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Sweet chocolate coffee and caramel aroma and taste with a syrupy roasted grain finish and a light bodied palate.

On draft at the pub, my favorite beer at The Brewery. Very traditional porter but makes for a nice brew while sitting on the patio in perfect weather.

On draft at the brewery/restaurant.
Aroma: chocolate, caramel, minimal aroma
Taste: chocolate, caramel, floral hops
Overall: A very bland porter. Needs work, but there were no terrible flaws, besides being bland.

Sample at the brewery. Aroma is terrible. I donít even want to sniff it long enough to say what is wrong, flavor is the same. One sip and Iím out on this one!

[Tap] Pours a clear dark brown color without any head. Pleasant malty aroma with some dust and light grass. Unfortunately, the flavor profile of this beer does not match the aroma. Dirty malt profile. Roasted malts and watered down coffee notes. Odd fruity esters donít really help either. Weak and watery palate. Man, this was a disappointment after such a promising start.

Draft at the brewpub. This was the winner of the 7 beers I tried from this place, which, to quote the movie "Waiting," is "like being the smartest kid with Down Syndrome." Just kidding - this brewery makes some reasonable beers, way more so than neighboring Stateline Brewery. Pours dark brown with a one-finger tan head and good lacing. Aroma is very roasty with chocolate and earthy notes. Flavor is very nice and balanced, with roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and earth. Tasty stuff, not half bad. Medium body with a somewhat smooth mouthfeel. Drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable overall.
