4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
pours a deep amber with no head - very small pop upon opening the bottle. sweet nose with spices, pumpkin / yam and sugars. light to med body - sweet throughout - seems a bit drier than the normal Autumn Maple. dark fruits, light citrus, spices and some alcohol warmth. strong finish with sweet sugars, orange, a light tartness and some vinous notes. for a 100% Brett fermentation, this is right along the lines of what I expected.

This poured a murky light brown color with a beige head. Aroma was of caramel corn, yams, light light brett, oak, and brown sugar. Flavor was influenced by the brett, but it certainly does not play the main role here. Lots of sweetness upfront, mainly caramel and yams, some other vegetal notes, and light barrel. Ok.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Drank from 750 ml bottle poured into wine glass. Aroma-malty and maple notes. Little bit of bourbon smell. Appearance- light golden brown with heavy head. Taste- very syrupy and tastes like molasses. Wishing i got the yam taste as promised. Very heavy and tough to drink. Would be good with a cigar. Palate- very strong. Tastes like i just used sailor jerry as a mouthwash. Overall- a lot of interesting smells and flavors but not exactly my type of beer.

Sampled at GonzoIllini’s Birthday Party (Western Springs, IL). Happy Birthday, Tony! Pours a rich amber brown hue, gentle toffee haze on the edges. Frothy tannish head laces small. Aromas are funky and pumpkin hued, gentle tartness, richer funk, oak, and good sweet fall fruit. Initial is medium body, touches of potato and pumpkin, some toffee and toast, bread and gentle spice. Backend offers gentle tartness, brett, cobwebs. Some tartness, brett, funk. Solid. Odd, and I’m admittedly not a fan of the regular Autumn Maple, but the wild yeast seems muddled, a bit muddy, and lacking clarity. Meh. Certainly a pretty pour though.

[ Courtesy of henrikb ]. Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, maple, sweet potatoes - red potatoes, leather notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet maple, wood, red potato, light funky. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft.

Bottle from St Fun. \,,/, Pours a thin, semi-waxy amber with a small off-white head. Nose is. Yam chunks, nutmeg, earthy sugarleaves, pumpkin pulp, and funky autumn barn after a heavy rain. Flavor is a biting funk of red wine, earthy yams, light nutmeg, musty syrup, and a touch of crisp autumn leaves. Light cherry funk in the finish. Average mouthfeel. Not bad, but not much maple in there, if at all.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber brown brew with very little head. Nose of caramel malts, yams, earth, and brett. This is an interesting take on the base beer with the earthy brett flavors nicely complimenting the sweetness of the yams.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Great beer. The sweet maple character is present, but the brett eats into it wonderfully so that the beer is never too sweet. Strong but not boozy. A very creative beer, executed well.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A-- Poured a deep reddish brown. Honestly a strange looking hazy color. A light brown head that quickly went away and left a small bit of lacing.
S-- A sort of strange funky smell. Get barnyard mixed with some yams and maple syrup. More funky barnyard than anything else.
T-- Different, very different. A lot of spices, namely cinnamon. Maple syrup, some yams and oak. First thought was a sour ale on acid.
M-- A little bit of sour, a little bit of sweet. How about all over the place. Lighter feel and more carbonated that I thought it would be. Not a lot of yams but more maple syrup. A little bit of barrel but not what I expected one bit.
