UPDATED: JUN 26, 2012 Dark body with a cascading creamy tan head. Some filmy lace is left behind. Aroma is fruity and sweet along with a subtle creamy chocolate character. The flavor is much like an imperial stout, some chocolate, fruity sweetness, and some light roast. A bit nutty in the finish. A slightly lactic quality at first and then a chalkiness towards the finish, though the lingering aftertaste has a velvety texture.

Bottle shared thanks to Charlie. Minimal to no head. Dark brown and murky. Nose of papery oxidation with some sherry notes. Taste is slightly tart with some Belgian funk and a lot of alcohol warming. Wow. I get minimal cocoa and no pecan flavor. As it warms it seems a bit infected. Definitely a bit tart and funky. I think this is on its way down.

hotstuff (4058) - Indiana, USA - JAN 22, 2014
Rated on 11-28-2009 (Bottle) When poured, this beer forms a large fizzy light brown head that quickly dissipated, opaque dark brown body, fizzy carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The Aroma is caramel malt, chocolate and nutty. The Taste is roasty, caramel malt, chocolate, nutty, and alcohol. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this is a good cold weather beer, worth trying, would drink again and a beer I recommend.
