COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ’12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. This is the only golden ale in the bunch but it definitely packs a holiday punch. We spiced up this 11.5% ABV ode to Winter with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with some delicious sweet and tangy pineapple.

750mL Bottle. Pours a semi-hazy apricot color with a medium white head decent retention and good lacing. Nose is funky Belgian yeasts and some spice. Mouth is both tangy and sweet up front, the pineapple really coming through, then spicy-yeastiness you’d expect in similar Belgian styled beers, (particularly from these guys), hint of cloves and anise at the tail-end, then some biscuit with a warm finish (although I had this in my trunk and it’s a balmy 19 degrees outside, it is 11.5% after all). Nice festive ale, that will probably give me a good yeast headache in the morn. Happy New Year’s Eve Eve. ;-)

pours cloudy golden orange, starts with a two finger tan head, fades fast to just a thin ring. Aroma is nice, you can smell the pineapple right away, some belgian yeast, and as the label states, it actually does have a spice cake aroma. Taste is fruity with dried pineapple notes, spiicy yeast, ends with a slight bitter hint that evens out this almost cloyingly sweet brew, some warmth from thhe abv, but not as much as you would expect from an 11.5. nice brew would like to try again in 7 years.

750mL bottle. Poured brilliant bright golden with a nice cap of eggshell head.. looked great! The aroma picked up fresh floral notes, Belgian yeast, and juicy pineapple, with cinnamon and ginger coming on a deeper whiff.. came across strong, but just the right level of strong. The flavor ramped everything up about 4 notches.. tangy pineapple, black pepper, and cinnamon on the tip of the tongue, with honey and lesser bready notes on the middle.. fiery spicage and alcohol warmth plus pineapple juice on the long, belly-warming finish.. some sourness followed the burn down the throat. Heavy-bodied and aggressive through the palate.. too many sugars, too much boozage, and just about the right amount of spice.. this was tasty overall, but it did not go down easily.

Bottle. Pineapple, light spice, and caramel malt aroma. Cloudy brown-yellow with moderate head. Sweet pineapple, caramel malt and ginger flavor. Alcohol finish. Pretty good but not one I would want very often.

Golden with a thick white head. Aroma is pineapple and a little spice, maybe some cloves. Flavor is a little sweet and tart. Some of the spice is present, but mostly citric sweetness from the pineapple and oddly similar to orange juice. It’s an interesting try, but not for me.

750 ml. bottle- Pours very hazy orangeish golden with a one finger white head. The aroma is whoa, holiday spices, mint, ginger, cinnamon, maybe nutmeg, it is Christmas in a glass! The taste is so smooth, you can not detect the 11.5% alcohol, creamy delicousness is the best way to describe it, very fruity, pineapple is definitely there, those spices in the aroma are there too. Not the kind of beer you can sit and drink all night, a one glass, or in this case a one bottle is more than enough, it starts to become almost too much after the first glass. But there is no denying I really enjoyed this, like I said, Christmas in a glass!!

Sampled with my bro on his birthday, that he gave to me for my birthday! Unfortunately, I really don’t care for it. A syrupy sweet mess of grapefruit, pineapple, orange peel. Ginger and cinnamon notes on the nose. Tart citrusy sugar. Maybe it will mellow out with age. But right now, I really didn’t care for this now

On tap at FG with e a couple weeks back. Darker pour than expected. Dark gold/amber. Extremely tropical fruity palate with tons of pineapple or mango or something. Medium yeasty, but not a lot of bite/brett. Got to be a lot to deal with after the first half of the glass. OK overall. Shocking/interesting if nothing else. Christmas though?

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a one-finger foamy head. Great nose of pineapple and orange with a faint ester note. Intriguing taste of slight barnyard funk with just a touch of citrus sweetness followed by spiciness (hints of allspice and coriander) that lingers through the finish. OK, but it doesn’t match the previous Bruery "12 Days" holiday beers, and I don’t think this one will hold up very well for seven more years.
