COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ’12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. This is the only golden ale in the bunch but it definitely packs a holiday punch. We spiced up this 11.5% ABV ode to Winter with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with some delicious sweet and tangy pineapple.

Draft at Les Caves, Corvallis. Bottle at 16 Tons, Eugene. Pours a brilliant orange, lots of head. Aroma is slight, pineapple is predominant, just the barest hint of yeast. Body is syrupy and rich, you know it’s boozy. Finish is also pineapple, sweet with the spice coming through just a bit. Spices are more apparent in the bottle, which makes it a pretty good beer. Draft is slightly less appealing, but still plenty decent.

Light gold hazy pour with tan head. aroma is pineapple and light tropical fruit. Very tart pineapple very similar to a saison.

The beer has a definite meat flavor with a tangy fruit of pineapple. This beer is for the drinking at dinner ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The aroma has the unusual quality of bologna, fruit, spice, and corn. The appearance is deep hazy gold with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a salty quality. The palate is average. Overall this is not a good beer.

750ml bottle, shared by Jay. Mildly hazy golden color. Good white head, good lace. Awesome nose that is very much pineapple upside-down cake. Taste is awesome tangy straight-up pineapple juice. There’s a hint of the alcohol, but it had me guessing 9%, not 11.5%, wow. Not too big of a body, dry texture, good light carbonation, more crisp, really. That pineapple citrus kind of adds a refreshing aspect to it. Very tasty. Doing a pineapple beer is a really creative and appropriate way to do the ’5 golden rings’ verse, and I think they did a really impressive job with it

Bomber, pours hazy honey w/ thin rimy head, heavy bready malt aroma with some tannic accents, medium to full-bodied with some snappy sour notes, and full biscuity malt throughout, not my cup of tea

Draft. Hazy golden color, small white edge head. Aroma of boozy pineapple. Taste is boozy pineapple. Too big for me.

On tap in Philly. Tropical fruits galore in the nose, smells pretty spicy. Pineapple explosion on the palate as prickly carb tickles my tongue. Needs a little more body and a bit less carb. A touch boozy and sweet at the same time. Tropical fruit is honestly pretty harsh. Unique.

Clear golden with a thin white head. Dusty hay aroma with some Belgian blonde malty aroma and malty sugary sweetness. Smooth flavor with lots of complexity going on. Peppery yeasty funk esters with blonde spicy malts, herbal bitterness, spruce tips, and dry hay/barn flavors, and a little pineapple sweetness. Basically tastes like a Christmas tree-Saison, with a little kiss of dusty caramel.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold color with a white head of whispy foam. The aroma is heavy on the pineapple juice. I love pineapple, so its not a problem, but I think it detracts from the rest of the potential aromatic profile. Taste is more pineapple, but it isn’t nearly as pleasant as drinking pineapple juice. Some spices do eventually come through in the finish.
