COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ’12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. This is the only golden ale in the bunch but it definitely packs a holiday punch. We spiced up this 11.5% ABV ode to Winter with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with some delicious sweet and tangy pineapple.

Bottle. This pours a deep golden hue, bordering on an amber color. The aroma is earthy and hints of alcohol and spice. But this drinks with a pleasant, rollicking tropical fruitiness up front, with an evident high gravity burn carrying the background. (#5056, 6/16/2013)

Aroma is heavily spicy and a hint of heat and nuttiness. The flavor is spices, pineapple, malts and a slight heat/sourish finish.

glennmastrange (1907) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Bottle. Moderate to heavy light bread and cereal for the malt, light to moderate flowers for the hops, moderate dough for the yeast, with hints of over ripe pineapple, fruity white wine, nutmeg and clove, and faint dried apricot. Head is small, frothy to fizzy, white with no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is clear but hazy on the last pour, light orange-y amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet, acidic, and bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily with a soft to lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish. This Belgian Strong Ale starts rich and full, then finishes light and spritely.

Amber golden colour, small white head. Aroma of bubblegum, rye bread, banana, pineapple and spices. Sweet flavour, alcoholic, rum soaked fruitcake. Very sweet! Sweet finish, fruitcake, light sour touch.
Expected more of this. Not really my thing.
(From 75cL bottle @ ZZT VII, Oirschot. Thanks for sharing, joes!)

@ZZT VII, fles dankzij joes, kleur is oranje en geen schuimkraag, ruikt en smaakt naar bananensnoepjes, fruit, zoet, beetje kruidig

Bottle shared by Joes @ ZZT VII. Clear golden color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, some alcohol, sourish, spices or herbs. No this isn’t it. Don’t like it.

Tasted at ZZT 7 thanks to Joes. Pours clear dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of pepper, spices, rye, candy, fruits, banana and alcohol. Flavor is over moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with acidic pineapple building nastily. Medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.

750mL bottle pours with a crystal clear deep gold body that has copper hues and supports an initially creamy metallic tan head that somehow dissipated into a loose head and then nothing in under a minute. The aroma offers up various Belgian yeasty spices as well as rich malt sweetened apple and plum and slightly over ripe nectarine. The taste begins smooth and sweet with loads of apple and apricot and peach honey coating fruity esters that meld at about midway into a pleasing nectar like quality. Then the yeasty spices and holiday fruit cake spice punch takes over only to head right into a bit of booziness. All in all this is working pretty well for me and I think another 10 to 12 months of age might see some further blending and melding of the flavors into something even more enjoyable than it is right now.
