COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ’12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. This is the only golden ale in the bunch but it definitely packs a holiday punch. We spiced up this 11.5% ABV ode to Winter with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with some delicious sweet and tangy pineapple.

Bottle from Rick’s in Alexandria. Pours a clear golden color. Nose is fairly strong on the ginger and spice with some backing pineapple. The flavor is quite spicy with heavy pineapple character to the background. Spice and booze fill the mouthfeel. Not a big fan.

Poured lightly hazy from a bomber bottle, amber color, with a small but durable off-white head. Vinegar (or similar) in the very sour aroma: smells like a good marinade ... or a bad beer. Well, the taste is similar, but perhaps a bit worse. There is some pineapple in the very tart taste. Medium bitterness. O: brewer’s description sounds wonderful; the beer is not. Hard to drink despite some attractive aspects.

Not my fave style but thought it was done well enough to be part of the series. One would think with the center of the song to be HUGE then the brew should be HUGE. Not.

Drunk to celebrate my rating number 26,000. Bottled. A dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of fruits, alcohol, malt, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of brettanomyces, malt, wood, alcohol, spices, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Spicy aroma - cinnamon? Rich body, sweet, overripe fruit, quite salty and minerally with a solid alcohol bite on your tongue. Never appears boozy though. Has a strange underlying tartness. 270413

Tasting at Red White & Bleu. Pours an orange-gold with small white head. Spices, yeast, tart pineapple with some sweet citrus. Fairly complex, but just OK.

Bottle randomly discovered at DLM. Can you have a pineapple spiked Belgian Ale? That’s what this seemed like. Very fruity with a little clove spice and hint of banana too. ABV well hidden. Fine overall.
