5 Golden Rings is the 5th verse in our ’12 Days of Christmas’ winter seasonal ale series. This is the only golden ale in the bunch but it definitely packs a holiday punch. We spiced up this 11.5% ABV ode to Winter with cinnamon, allspice and ginger along with some delicious sweet and tangy pineapple.

On tap @ Max’s. Golden body with some white head. Spicy Belgian yeast, sweetness, and other spices. Way too sweet for me with the 11.5% ABV in full force. Might improve with some age but a bit young now (and I usually LOVE Bruery big ABV brews).

Bottle opened during the Christmas Movie Marathon on 12/20/14. Clear amber in color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of candy, Belgian esters, malt, pineapple and slight herbs. Malty and candyish sweet flavor with pineapple accents before a peppery yeast finish.

Had in cellar for two years.....can really smell the pineapple. Little to no head, and no lacing at all. Picking up a lot of citrus and pin able in the taste....very interesting beer. Glad I had it.

Poured from a 750ml bottle. I thought for sure this would be an oxidized mess. It is fantastic. The aroma is sweet, some cooking spices, fruity. The flavor is slightly tart, cinnamon, ginger, soft bready malt character. There are signs of oxidation, light cardboard, mustiness. I would drink this sooner then later.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours clear golden with minimal head. The aroma has honey and orange zest. The taste is fairly sweet orange juice, light pineapple, a bit cloying.

(750ml bottle) golden body, fine white bubbles. Nose of stonefruit, sweet, graham crackers, pineapple, apricot, peach, complex as hell. Taste of sweet fruit, peach, apricot, cotton candy, quite sweet but a really nice beer.

"Probably my least favorite so far (of the 4 I’ve had) but they’re all close. This will have better potential for aging than I thought before trying it. 3 & 4 have actually improved with age! The combo of pineapple and spicy/bubble-gummy belgian yeast is pleasant for sure, but a little too in your face to be as enjoyed as the last few Bruery holiday releases. Reminiscent of a stronger Mana Wheat. This’ll be interesting in 2013/2014."

(bottle) murky orange colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and alcohol, with a hint of nettles and cheesecake. flavour is mostly caramel and grape juice, with a heavy sweetness, lots of alcohol, some lemons and brown sugar. medium- to heavy-bodied with average carbonation.
