4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle, courtesy hopscotch. I went into this one with low expectations, as I wasnít a fan at all of the under carbonated first batch of the base beer. This one pours a hazy, dark, brownish amber hue. A small, smooth head of tan foam crowns the surface, leaving behind a dense, sudsy, leggy wash of lace that rejoins the body. The aroma just about knocked my socks off, showing beautiful notes of candied yams,
brown sugar, hazelnuts, vanilla maple sugar, caramel, and oaky, sour mash bourbon. Though itís certainly sweet, thereís something about the spicy, oaky, slightly boozy nose that cuts through the sweetness and balances it out a bit. Flavors are also complex and decadent. The caramelized yams, vanilla, and maple are perfectly complimented by the earthy nuttiness, and the silky bourbon slides right in there, fitting the profile like a glove. On the palate, soft to moderate carbonation stands up to the medium-full, sweet, luxurious body. It finishes warm, but not at all hot. Excellent brew here. I canít recall a beer in which the barrel-aged version was this significantly better than the base beer. The bourbon and oak really sets this one off. Of course, the carbonation helps out alot too.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, thanks to TampaBrew for sharing. Poured an orange brown with a thin, light tan head. Nose is barrel up front which recedes into notes of caramel, brown sugar, and dark fruit. Full body with a smooth mouth feel and soft carbonation. Flavor is dark malts, milk chocolate, spice, toffee, and molasses predominately but notes of dates, bourbon, caramel are also present. Sweet finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by alexanderj, thanks for sharing this rarity. Darker brown pour. Aroma is caramel, sweet malt, pit fruit, light vanilla. Flavor is the same, with the interesting yeast component of many Bruery beers, athough I am not sure that the yeast compliments a beer this sweet and rich.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to STLWill for sharing this interesting beer. Pours murky brown with a beige head. The aroma has maple, bourbon, brown sugar, candied yams, toasty malt and some abv heat that works for it. Fairly heavy body with a nice amount of soft carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of toasty malt, maple, soft heat, apples and a bit of wateriness. The finish has some apples and heat. Nice interesting beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a soapy gathering of suds at the top. Leaves tons of lacing on my goblet.
Aroma: Maple syrup, baked yams, caramel, molasses, bourbon. All throughout, lies a sturdy wood and herbal hop note with every sip.
Taste: Vanilla, wood, funky twang, maple syrup, candied yams, cinnamon spice and hop spice.
Mouthfeel: Very warm going from my mouth to my stomach. Low but perfect complimentary carbonation. Very thick.
Overall: I liked this better than the original 2008 batch. Very complex, enjoyable and inviting. The wood and bourbon notes play well with the aggressively sweet Autumn Maple.
