Cask at The Bruery. Pours a black coffee color with a moderate off white head. Aroma is pretty much all bourbon and vanilla with a touch of spice. The flavor has the same but the nutmeg and spiciness comes through a bit more. Slightly tart. Carbonation is very low as advertised and it feels thick on the palate but not cloying. Can’t wait to try the bottled version!

On cask at The Bruery. Autumn Maple aged in Bourbon and Rye Barrels. Dark brown copper color with half inch white head. The candied yam taste comes through with pumpkin spice perfectly sitting in the background. Oak, vanilla, earthy yam, pumpkin pie spice and bourbon.

On cask at the Bruery. Poured a dark brown color with a nice thick head. Aroma and taste of booze, spices, oak, bourbon, sweet candy and maple yams. Very low carbonation that was expected. Overall pretty tasty stuff.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2009 updated 07Sep2009 I’m having this from a bottle, so I’ll make some updates based on the different format. Lightly carbonated, the maple flavor really hits you and it still goes well w/ the bourbon aging. I like it. It’s on the sweet side, but that works for me. -------- cask at the Bruery. This is the 2008 Autumn Maple that was aged in bourbon and rye barrels. It’s a dark brown pour with red highlights and despite the warning that it was a still beer, it had a about a 1/2 inch white head. The aroma of vanilla, oak, bourbon, yams and nutmeg hits you. The flavors of the bourbon aging play very well against the maple and yams. Excellent on cask. I bet it will be great from the bottle.
