Draft at The Bruery taproom - cheers, Andrew! Pours clear amber with a creamy top. The nose is all ripe fruits, fruitcake, vanilla and bread. Medium to big sweet flavor with toffee, ripe berries, more fruitcake and mild autumnal spices. Full bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Warm finish with more spices, fruitcake, toffee, vanilla and modest maple character. Rich and flavorful.

Amber pour with very little head at the tasting room. Nose has a bit of gourd, maple and bourbon, a nice combination. Lots of alcohol in the finish.

750ml bottle thanks to Darrel. Pours out a muddy water topped with a tan head. Nose is sour spice and sweetness. Taste is horrible battery acid this is so bad infection city. If this was not inflected it maybe a good beer. Toss out the barrels please.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2014 Bottle: 2013 edition. Murky, turbid brown pour with a wispy, beige-ish head that is gone in a matter of seconds. Aroma immediately screams infection... Sour yogurt & lacto notes, green apple skins, lemons, vinegar... Only get slight undertones of weird ginger spice from the base beer. Does NOT mix well. Taste is even worse. Horribly infected. Sour apple & lemon with a bad mixture of nasty spiced beer. Could barely drink a few sips of this... Incredibly thin for 13% ABV, but that’s the least of my concerns. Awful. Will re-rate when I have the chance to try again... never thought this could be worse than the regular Autumn Maple. One of the worst things ever.

75cl bottle from liquor store in Costa Mesa...Hi Time Pours a slightly murky amber with little head. Sweet with yams and brown sugar, and moderately spiced . Balanced. There is also a fairly nice bready finish that is a bit like an uniced cinnamon roll- yeasty, bready. All in all, a pleasant experience, especially after the beer opens up for a while. It seems to get less sweet and certainly less carbonated- and breadier.

Bottle:   Dark caramel, very dirty and thick, small sudsy off-white head, little lacing.   Soured nose, very faint autumn spices.   I was told this was infected and/or on its way, and yep, its seems a bit busted.   Does also have a sweet caramel and spiced yam background.   Oaky sourness right up front, slight notes of spiced yams, brown sugar, and molasses.   Its not the spicy Bourbony beer I expected it to be, and I understand the infection was not intended, but its still an interesting beer.   The 13% is well hidden, but I would liked to have the chance to taste the nice Bourbony beer that was intended.   Big lactic sour finish, which dominates everything.   Some aspects I don’t mind, some I wished hadn’t occurred.   Interesting even if it wasn’t intended.   Thanks Rob!

Hazy murky dark reddish brown in color... Aroma of sour vinegar, caramel, brown sugar.... Flavor is incredibly tart, notes of bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, yams, and spices... Probably one of the better overtly infected BA beers I've had... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
