3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Small sample pour to a shaker at the Windy City Distributing annual expo. The color was a hazed, brown/amber, with modest, off white head foam that reduced quickly to a ring and film, and left light spots of lacing at best. The aroma was maple sweetness, spices, and bourbony alcohol. The flavor was a little sherry-like, bourbony alcohol warmth, full bodied, syrupy texture, with modest carbonation. A very enjoyable sipper!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a bottle and thanks to Greg for this one. Murky brown with minor carbonation and a very thin white head which quickly dissipated. Sweet aromas and spice on the nose. Prominent flavors of yams, maple, and bourbon. Alcohol heat pretty apparent and feels higher than 10 %. Full syrupy mouthfeel. Intersting beer but not psyched on drinking too much of this one.

Thanks to Hopscotch. Pours a dark brown with boozy oak and vanilla aroma. Flavor is sweet with a kick from the bourbon. Great stuff.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep reddish brown with a nice lacing head.
The aroma is spicy with lots of poorly integrated bourbon notes and prominent bready malts.
The flavor is just more of the same. Big malty sweetness, a range of spices, not always in harmony, and quite quirky bourbon notes. The finish is mildly bitter and sweet with notes of spices, bourbon and alcohol.
Full-bodied and sticky.
I can’t really get a grip on this beer. Not overly impressed, but it’s certainly better than the regular Autumn Maple.

Sample at Woodshop. Forgot who popped this, but thanks for doing so. Pours a muddy peach color with a very thin off white ring. Nose was big on canned yams, bourbon and baking spices. Flavor was sweet potato pie, bourbon and again some baking spices. A nice thought, I think the base beer is too sweet as it is....

Big Thanks to jdubfl for popping the top on this one.
A: Pours a nice deep shade of dark brown with a small off white head. No real retention or lace noted.
S: Aroms of candied yams, xmas spice, and lots and lots of barrel.
T: The yams are there for sure with hints of pumpkin pie spice. Sweet Molasses comes through along with very subtle chocolate malt. The barrel is huge in this beer. It provides light vanilla and oak, and lots and lots of booze.
M: Medium in body, smooth, rather soft in carbonation.
D: Pretty good, to be honest I think I like the non barreled version better though.
