Poured from 750ml bottle. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma is sweet potato pie with a nice amount of bourbon. Taste is sweet with flavors of vanilla, sweet potato, cinnamon, nutmeg and all spice. I am a big fan of the base beer. This variant adds to that great base beer, just dialing up the flavor and adding the element of vanilla and booze. Love it.

Very good beer. This is a welcome addition to the beers made especially for the fall. Most are the Pumpkin beers, which I am getting tired of. This maple, yam, and spices are great. I will drink this all year if it is available.

Huge thanks to TampaBrew for bringing this one. Pours red-brown with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, yam, whiskey, malt, brown sugar, and maple with a tang of booze burn. Flavor is yam all over, caramel, malt, bourbon, brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, vanilla, and some barely noticeable booziness. For a 10% beer this one is deceivingly balanced towards the malt and sweetness leaving booze almost indiscernible. Another great Bruery beer.

750 ml bottle from pantanap- thanks, Kan! Pours a murky plum-brown-amber color with no head after the initial pour. The aroma is led by bourbon, with vanilla, oak, caramel, raisins, nutmeg, prunes, pumpkin pie, and yams. The flavor is the same- powerful barrel notes balanced by big maltiness and plenty of spices. Even some dark and dried fruits. Caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla- sweet, spicy, boozy, and complex. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation. I already love Autumn Maple, but the bourbon barrel adds a whole new and delicious dimension.

#800! Pours a hazy amber with no head. Nose is bourbon, fresh wood, candied yams, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, booze and ripe fruits. Flavor is mild bourbon, earthy wood, sweet yams, slight musty oxidation, aromatic pumpkin pie spices, huge sweet malt backbone, rich chocolate covered cherries. Phenomenal beer. One of the best barrel aged beers I have ever had. It lends itself perfectly to that style.

sample from the bottle at Dr. Bill’s Tasting at Falling Rock during GABF on 9/26/09... pours a deep red with an off white head... bourbon nose with some spice... very smooth body throughout... extremely well balanced... the barrel aging really shines through from front to back.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2012 Bomber. Dark maple pour with some head. Nose is all kinds of fall goodness and should be replicated into a car air freshener. The base beer for this is phenomenal. Spices galore with yams, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and everything that a fall beer should be. The bourbon adds another couple of notches to this experience. One of the best I have ever had.

750mL bottle, courtesy of iowaherkeye. Thanks, Joey! Pours a slightly green, oily, yellowish-brown color; thin off-white head with minimal lacing. Gorgeous, gorgeous nose; very generous, sweet bourbon and lightly charred barrel character; touches of caramel apples, oily, no alcohol, honey; awesome. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: nicely warming bourbon and sweet vanilla notes; touches of sour mash; oozing honey and brown sugar; minimal alcohol; just a huge improvement to the standard version of this beer; great barrel notes. Gorgeous and well-presented. Lasting finish: brown sugar, sweet bourbon, vanilla, and viscous, oozing barrel notes; nicely toasty at the far end.
