COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made in the pumpkin beer tradition, except instead of pumpkins we used yams, and lots of them! A big Belgian-style brown ale of 10% ABV, this one is bringing pumpkin beers (or yam beers) into new territory.

Big bottle. Deep, lovely amber-red with a tall head that disappears quickly. Very big spice nose, yams (seems like pumpkins), cinnamon, Belgian yeast. Nose spicy fall nose. Sweet flavor, maple syrup, cinnamon, fruity tang, oranges. Very autumny. Quite sweet but not over-the-top at all. Quite nice, really.

On tap at The Bruery poured into a taster by the server trying to entice bottle purchases. Appearance is brown with orange highlights, tan head the quickly settles to a film, and minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet potato pie spices, maple syrup, brown sugar, and malt. Taste is light brown sugar and yam sweetness complimented by the nutmeg, clove, and allspice bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, thick texture, clean finish.

From a bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a creamy, foamy, beige head. Smells like maple syrup, booze, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Tastes like root vegetables, some creaminess, light sweetness, and light alcohol. Medium body and low carbonation.

Flavor is sweet bready malts, caramel and syrup, yams, light vanilla, and light spices; semi-sweet finish that gradually dries out. Medium/full body and medium carbonation.

Very murky muddy light brownish orange color, head dissipates quickly. Big sweet, malty, Belgian type character in the aroma. Alcohol, sweetness, some maple like flavor, spices, light vanilla and oak character in the finish.

Bottle. Murky brownish orange. Minimal head. Nose full of spices like a pie. Taste is similar with some marshmallow and vanilla. Very creamy and full. Tasty but kinda muddled. Maybe they shook it before pouring it for me.

Interesting take on your usual fall/pumpkin beer. More meaty and chewy but with a sweetness on top.

I found this cloyingly sweet. Fairly heavy pumpkin pie spice presence, a little sticky and medicinal. Would almost make for a better warmed drink.

Draught. This is a smooth, sweet, and delicious brew with great autumnal flavor.
