COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made in the pumpkin beer tradition, except instead of pumpkins we used yams, and lots of them! A big Belgian-style brown ale of 10% ABV, this one is bringing pumpkin beers (or yam beers) into new territory.

This is fall in a glass. Give up the pumpkin beers and graduate to this absolute beautiful creation. Beautiful dark brown color with a nice thin white head to contrast. Smells like pie. Big cinnamon, nutmeg and maple syrup. Totally sweet and bready as well. Taste is more of that cinnamon and nutmeg and big vanilla and syrup. It doesn’t taste like a yam forward beer which is fine, but you definitely get a subtle yam taste so it just adds to the experience. It’s a big beer and a sipper for sure. You don’t get any unpleasant alcohol burn but it is warming in a good way. Overall this is a treat. I absolutely loved this beer and I am not a fan of pumpkin beer, but I can get behind this in the fall. Great stuff. Cheers!

Pour is a dark amber with a large white head. Aroma is plenty of spice. Large amounts of nutmeg and cinnamon but also a nice hop shows up. Flavor is also a big spice with a nice sweet maple syrup and brown sugar. No alcohol comes out as this warms. Don’t really get any yams but I don’t know what they would even bring out other than more sugars to ferment. This is all about the spice and it’s all here and very smooth and drinkable.

sample at a tasting poured a medium brown color with smallish white head. the aroma was a pleasant nose of cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin spice. the aroma of the yams was evident. as well. the flavor was better than what I thought. got the yams (pumpkin) and the spices blended nicely together. this was near the end of the bottle and no sediment would have like to try more of this. maybe one day but it was very good.

750ml capped bottle pours a deep amber color with a generous light tan head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is cinnamon and coriander with some toasted notes and caramel. Taste is a yam and caramel malty sweetness with a light herbal hop bitterness and finishing with the spices. This brew was a bit of a disappointment considering the price paid. Flavours are a little weird in this brew.

After reading other reviews I can only conclude my 750ml bottle turned. Pretty pour, dark tan with some red, very fizzy with little head. Tasted like spiced piss and vinegar with an agressive carbonation.

A nice fall beer. Pour as pretty red with a white head. Smells of cinnamon and maple syrup. Taste is less thick then expected, with cinnamon, herbs, yams and a bit of sour cherry in the finish. Had on tap at HopMonk.

Interesting and the price was better than others. Gorgeous reddish amber clear good head and lace. Aroma is brett with sugary sweet maple vanilla brown sugar. Taste is foamy, with maple tones vanilla rich malt and even bourbon kind of. Fairly sweet but not too much and up there with good Belgian ales. Subdued spices, yams I don’t know what they do here, maybe some texture, spices are subdued but fairly complex. Kind of light flavored for a brown ale otherwise,.
