COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made in the pumpkin beer tradition, except instead of pumpkins we used yams, and lots of them! A big Belgian-style brown ale of 10% ABV, this one is bringing pumpkin beers (or yam beers) into new territory.

A deep brown with a bit hint of red. The bottle got excited and flowed over when I opened it. The smell isn’t much. The taste leaves a little to be desired from one of my favorite Bruery-s.

750mL bottle poured into a tulip -- Aroma and appearance are quite impressive. The flavor doesn’t follow through very well. A metallic flavor dominates throughout. Otherwise, very impressive caramel, candy, pumpkin pie spice, and yeast combination. Very disappointed with the metallic bit.

From Costco. Poured ruby red. Tan head. Lots of lacing. Nose of pie. Medium body. Smooth in the mouth. Alcohol not tasted. Flavor is interested with yams tasting really good and there is spice in the finish. Really easy to drink. Liked it a lot.

A dark reddish pink body with a 1 finger off white head. Nose is nutmeg, clove, pumpkin and vanilla. sweet and spicy nose with bread dough. Taste is pretty sweet, Very vegetable forward, yams, candy sweet potatoes. it’s an interesting beer but not mind blowing. The ABV is well hidden.

Exceptionally smooth beer for the ABV, very tasty. The maple is not a stand out flavor, tastes more like a pumpkin beer. For a somewhat similar taste and comparable ABV for less, I would stick with Southern Tier Pumking.

Rated on 11-08-2014 (Bottle) When poured, this beer has a huge foamy vanilla head that mostly diminishes, slightly hazy amber body, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is very spicy, some clove, cinnamon, sweet, and malt. The flavor is sweet, very spicy, a little syrupy, caramel malt, and some alcohol. The mouthfeel is moderate carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. The flavor just did not entice me enough to want this beer again. It is not bad tasting. The flavors just did not come together that well for my liking. Nonetheless, it is worth trying.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a very large sized head of foamy bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated transparent brown orange colored body and a fair lacing. The complex aroma was maple syrup brown ale citrus spicy and hoppy. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a acidic hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of maple syrup mild citrus mild caramel mildly vinous sweet spices brown malt crisp breads and hops. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.

On tap at 10 East. The beer has the look like something from a rusty rain gutter, orangish-brown, cloudy with a off-beige head. Aroma of pumpkin spice, maple and sweetness abounds. I definitely get the yam profile in the flavor, with some earthy sweetness, burnt sugar, clover honey and sugar cookies. Finish is medium and the body has a surprising lightness to it. Sweet, but not cloying. Very nice indeed.

Pours dark copper color with a thick creamy off white head. Sweet malty aroma with yams, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove yeastiness. Creamy mouthfeel. Sweet caramel malt start with rich yams, molasses, maple syrup, vanilla. Some raisin and prune flavors in the middle with cinnamon and nutmeg and finishing with a yeastiness and slight tart flavor. This is a really rich and complex brew. This beer may have ruined all other pumpkin beers for me.
