4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 ocdrinker909 (33) - USA - APR 21, 2010
750ml bpttle. Pours a deep red, thin head. Aroma is incredible. Spicy pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, sweet malts, slight roast, brown sugar, nutmeg. Mild spicy taste. the yams really come through. Sweet candy sugar? Hides the ABV very well. A great winter sipper if you ask me and one of the top pumpkin beers around.

You can taste the alcohol upfront. Thick, spicy, maple. Strong and delicious. Warm all the way down.
4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 b79turner (167) - Alabama, USA - AUG 7, 2011
Bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Napa, CA in June 2011. Poured into a tulip glass. Rich brown color with 1-1/2" head. Lacing all around the glass. Medium-high carbonation. Very smooth beer, alcohol is slightly warming but not overwhelming. I noticed the yams, but compliments the beer well. This is a fantastic brew...but then again, I haven’t had a bad one from The Bruery.
4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Peacehammer (483) - California, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Pours a thick, dark copper. The Yams give this beer a very full body. Aroma of Cinnamon and Vanilla. Easy to drink despite the full body. At over 10% the beer’s characteristics hide it’s alcohol content very well.
4.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 MsLucky13 (2) - Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, USA - OCT 24, 2009 does not count
Great body, color and flavor. Sweet with fizzy carbonation. Less thick than expected.
4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 iggynelix (27) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 3, 2009
the spice notes of this were perfect for the cool fall evening. the molasses and yams really come through, but don’t overpower. this was one of my favourite dinner bottles this season.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 sactodd (18) - Citrus Heights, California, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Pours a slightly murky dark amber, with a two finger light tan creamy head. Immediate spicy aromas grab the nose, followed by a sweet carmel-like yam scent. Taste starts with a tickle of carbonation on the tongue follower by lovely spice (slight clover/hint of cinnamon), then yam/carmel/maple sweetness that finishes with a nice Belgian style visit of sour before it melts on to the back of the tongue to finish with a nice alcohol heat, and revisit of spice. This is an amazing beer, great balance, and the flavor profile works on so many levels.
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 teorn88 (1198) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2011
75cl bottle. Pours a dark orange/copper color with a big beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is definitely complex amd rich: sweet fruits, apple juice, pineapple, peach, brown sugar, almonds. Taste is rich and flavorful too: very sweet, brown sugar, slight alcohol burnt, peppery. Sweet warm finish. Overall, warming but at the same time easy to drink. Simply outstanding.

I. Freaking. Love. This. Beer.
Spices and yams? Yes, please! This beer is absolutely amazing on its own or paired with turkey and mashed potatoes. Not too heavy, it’s crisp and refreshing while being complex and smooth. DEF better as it ages, try this one next year!
