Commercial Description:
The first ever batch brewed by The Bruery, Batch No. 1 is the result of a homebrew contest we held in order to determine our first batch. Loren Miraglia and Mark Graham entered a fantastic Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale that captured the judges attention. Batch No. 1 has a pepper-like spiciness and fruit forward flavors of pear and apricot. It is deceptively potent and will continue improving with age. (ABV: 11%, IBU: 20, SRM: 6, Release: One Time Only, Format: 750 mL bottles)

750ml bottle. Poured a hazy medium orange color. Smelled of pear, alcohol, and light clove. Medium bodied and sweet with a warming alcohol effect. Tasted of clove, cereal grain, and alcohol. The spices were more prominent toward the end.

Thanks Southbay. Pours a still murky peachy amber with a thin offwhite head. Not much carbonation on this one. The nose is earhty, alcohol shows up, sweet, mildly yeasty, some citrus flesh, a little funky. Very interesting hops in the nose. The flavor is a mess, sweet candy, tastes underattenuated, dry alcohol, warm, spicy, some citrusy hops, yeasty. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, lacks carbonation, some spicy character.

750ml bottle. #801 of 2057. Slight aroma of yeast, sugar, sweet corn, perfume and white pepper. Green apple. Yeasty esters throughout. Pours a nearly still orange/copper with no head. Flavor is fairly yeast heavy with some tannic grape skin. Banana. Not a whole lot of hops. Toned down pale malt... hints of biscuit. More green apple skin. Definitely can*t tell the 11 percent. Medium body. Slick and slightly oily, lacking carbonation with a yeasty and boozy finish. Interesting, because the first few beers I had from the Bruery were intensely overcarbonated, while the last two I*ve had seemed to lack carbonation. I*m rooting for these guys and I hope they get that issue resolved. Thanks Joey!

Shared from a bottle from etowneraser. Thin head of rather large bubbles. Light carbonation. Sweet and malty aroma with some banana bread and other light fruit. Hazy coppery orange. Thinner body than expected. Lots of fruity notes. White grape and pear and a strong alcohol presence. Slick mouthfeel. Little bit lifeless since it was opened yesterday. Finishes sweet and hot. A pretty good brew and probably a notch better freshly opened. Still a good belgian though.

Bottle: Pour is clear light golden with basically no head. Aroma has some medium yeast, light chocolate and banana, and a hint of honey. Basically, it smells like chocolate chip banana bread. Flavor has a lot of biscuit, banana, chocolate, and sweetness. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Well blended, low carbonation brew. I basically just drank a banana bread.

#74. Pours cloudy gold with a short-lived off-white head. Sweet bready and apple/banana aroma. Fruity and honey taste, with the sweetness of the Belgian yeast showing through. Definitely taste the pear and apricot as you make it through the bottle. I found the alcohol well-maksed, but this was also my 3rd beer of the night. I’d love to try this in a few years, but better grab one now.

750 ml bottle #743 of 2157. Yeasty nose with some sweet malty flavors. Finish was somewhat spicey and I didn’t expect that. Just Okay.
