A Biere de Garde style ale using six malts (Pilsner, Six-Row, Munich, Biscuit, Kiln Amber, Aromatic), two types of hops (Columbus, Strisselspalt) and a variety of other spices and flavorings (roasted zucchini used in the mash, and fennel seeds, lemon peel, and Spanish cedar in the fermentor), and finally fermented with their proprietary Belgian House Yeast.

Tap at The Bruery. Light orange with thick white head. Different spices come through along with some toffee malt. Cedar and lemon show up also. Different and good.

I had this beer on tap at Bruery Provisions. I liked it. Dry, tangy with a clear golden color and a nice aroma, I enjoyed it.

A - Served a cloudy golden orange color wit ha finger of frothy white head. The head faded down slowly leaving behind lots of lace. S - Aroma is a mix of Belgian yeasts with some farmhouse smells, with some spices, earthiness, and vegetable aromas. T - Starts off with some vegetable and earthy flavors with a bit of Belgian yeasts and caramel. Through the middle, some wood comes through with some lemon and stronger yeast flavors with some clove and banana. The finish is a mix of yeast and spices with some more vegetable flavor. M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a bit of sharpness on the tongue. D - Very drinkable. Interesting mix of flavors but comes together nicely, especially the vegetable flavors.

(on draught at the Provisions Store). Pours mostly clear golden with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet with lemon, belgian yeast and some vegetal notes? Taste is sweet with a bit of a tart twang. Getting some fennel. Full bodied with a creamy texture. The mouthfeel shows the cedar which is similar to Loakal Red in that respect. Pretty nice and not as crazy tasting as it sounds.

On tapat Falling Rock poured a clear tarnished gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of straw, earthiness, spice and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of straw, spice, light carmel and light fruittiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

A: This one pours a murky golden orange color with a small white head. S: Smells pretty sweet. Lots of bread and a bit of the zucchini comes through. A bit of lemon peel and fennel. The cedar doesn’t really come through all that much, thankfully. T: Only a little bit of cedar on the flavor as well as a slight vanilla note. There is definitely some sweet toffee and caramel flavor. A little pepper, fennel, and a sweet starchy flavor I can only guess is zucchini. M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. O: I was expecting a bit of a disaster, but this was quite good. It was too sweet for what I expect from a biere de garde, but nice otherwise.

On tap @ the brewery. Light orange with a small amount of white head. Aromas of lemon, zuccihini bread, and herbs. This is a very unique beer, not sure i’ve had anything like it before. Quite sweet with, flavors of zucchini, spices, caramel malt and just a bit of cedar coming through. ABV is well hidden but I couldn’t drink more than one of these due to the sweetness.

On tap at Provisions. Pours with a pitch perfect clear golden body with a massive, thick and lasting white head. Aromas are very spicy, phenol, sage, bready, cedar, anise (light), bready and grainy. Ester wise it is quite clean. Taste is a bit sweet. Showcase of malt over yeast: bready, malty. Lightly herbal and spicy. Toasty. Soft and pretty clean overall (fermented low I guess, somewhat to style). Medium to lively bubbles, dry and a bit of spice or phenol in the finish.

On tap at Falling Rock, pour was cloudy orange with nice white head, aroma has notes of lots of coriander, lemon, hints of cedar, some odd spice notes as well, interesting for sure. Taste is a mix of spicy lemon peel, hints of pepper, cedar, touch of fleshy malts in there (zucchini?) finishing fairly sweet. Ok, but a bit odd.
