Bottle; poured a dark cola brown with lots of floaties. Aroa of wheat, chalk and cocoa. Flavor was that of a brown ale with some wheat, fruit, and chalk. Not as good as I was hopping for, but not bad.

Pours a dark brown with ruby hi-lights with a tan head developing into nice lace. Aroma is of spice, coriander, citrus, floral, wheat.
Flavor is of caramel, spice, roasted malt, wheat, yeast with a long lasting finish. An ok beer that could use some adjustments.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 25, 2008
Pours a dark caramel brown color with violet hues showing when backlit. A small, foamy, khaki colored head is well retained, and some nice, delicate lacing remains on the glass. The aroma is floral and fruity, with notes of darkly toasted wheat in the background. Light caramel adds sweetness, while banana esters and hints of lavender and orange peel provide bright spots on the nose. Flavors are a bit more muddled, with the dry, wheaty base taking the fruits over somewhat. Oatmeal wasn’t as prevalent as I was expecting. The palate was a little weak and a bit over carbonated, though it was fairly easy to drink and quite refreshing. Overall, I just wasn’t nearly as impressed with the Black Orchard as I was with the Wit.

draft: very dark brown beer with a thin off-white head. very subtle yeast nose of bubblegum. wheaty & yeasty flavors, pretty concentrated on the yeasty bubblegum notes. balanced hop character and a slight roasty thing going on behind the scenes. the beer is clean for the most part though can be a little flemmy in the aftertaste. pretty ordinary overall though...i think it would better with a strong roast character.
