3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"you can taste the orange peel more than the coriander, the smoky black patent malt almost taking over the flavor and aroma...like a slightly funky good black lager more than a wit. points for uniqueness. this beer was stout dark but light-medium bodied, and had a lot going on, but was still drinkable. the mix of flavors didn’t quite come together as much as i’d hoped as some of the wit character was a bit overpowered, but it tasted good. dry finish and feel. aroma a bit weak and unassuming, otherwise a good beer."

’twas a neat little beer, though not meant for this world. a witbier with a dark ale chassis, why would you make interesting low abv beers when you could pump out 20 dollar sours and 30 dollar booze bombs?

Bottle. Pours black with an inch of khaki foam that quickly disappears. Fruity notes on the nose. A bit sweet on the tongue. Finish lingers a bit. Not quite quite what to make sure of this one.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
75 cl bottle @ O’Hara’s Freehouse. Rated on 09.03.2010
Brown color, looks a bit like cola. Big headAroma is sweetish and stale with spices, some brown sugar and hints of toffee. Flavour is a bit thin with wheat, some licorice and burned sugar. Sour finish. Palate is a bit too high on CO2. Rather typical Belgian dark ale.
