750 mL bottle, 2012 version. Thanks Tim! The pour is a lighter black of a darker brown with a lighter tan head and a minimal amount of lace. The aroma is pretty hot. There is a huge bourbon dominance on the nose. The licorice and roasted malt come through lightly, there is also a light caramel note. The flavor is also really hot, with a nice cocoa and licorice note and a strong woody vanilla character. I like the burn and and bourbon presence. The mouth feel is light, but there is a good carbonation to help, and the aftertaste is lingeringly boozy and full of licorice and cocoa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample size at an awesome bottle share. Pours a dense dark brown, no head at all, with plenty of floaties. Nose involves dark chocolate covered raisins, toast, plums and other dark fruit, and some alcohol vapors. Very, very sweet flavor, some tartness, and some bitterness. Huge body, slick, softly (barely) carbed, almost stinging with hot alcohol, finish very long and very warm. Crazy brew, would probably benefit from more than just 8 months of mellowing. Drinks like a liqueur for sure. Fun to try.

Glad to be one of SHERM1016’s friends on this tasting! OMG! This is definite sipper! Pours absolute black; initial taste, which hides the 19% booze well, is a strong whiskey emphasis....vanilla and bourbon dominate.....booze actually increased, to me, as it warmed. Took over an hour to enjoy my split from the bomber....excellent.

750ml bottle, split with friends. Pours a thick, jet black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is boozy, whiskey. Heavy on the palate with light carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, soy, whiskey, vanilla, boozy, with a sweet, boozy finish. Yum.

Brilliant brew. Strong and rich imperial stout, the long bourbon aging give the beer a deep taste of vanilla, cinnamon, some fruits and oak. Lots of alcohol, but it is wel hidden. Amazing.
