750 ml bottle, shared by AirForceHops at RBNEG. Poured into a wine glass. Pours black as possibly can be with zero head. Light, none shall pass. Huge aroma of chocolate malt, vanilla, wood, soy sauce and a distracting vodka scent. Incredible mix of flavor including chocolate, coffee, dark chocolate covered cherries, vanilla, oak barrel and alcohol. Full bodied with no carbonation. Would be silky smooth on the tongue, but itís just to hot. A couple of years in the cellar would take this from Billy Corgan screaming " in spite of my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage" to Andy Williams crooning Moonriver. This beer would have been perfect at 11 to 12%. A big thanks to AirForceHops for bringing this.

Bottle thanks to fear025. Pours a deep brown with no head. Aroma of dark fruit, vanilla, caramel, bourbon alcohol. Taste is mostly bourbon heat, some coffee/chocolate notes. Medium body, low carb. Way too boozy.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2014 Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks troganmi for this bottle! Bottled 9/18/13, 18.9%. Black, not completely opaque, with a bit of brown foam that dissipates quickly and leaves only a thin film. Aroma is kinda alcoholic with bourbon, chocolate, lots of vanilla, lots of wood and dark fruits. Flavor is full of chocolate, bourbon, wood, vanilla, a bit of coffee, some dark fruits and some liqueur-like alcohol feel. Full-bodied, chewy, syrupy and a bit boozy. The alcohol feel mellows out after a few minutes in the glass. Great stuff, especially for this strength (donít normally like super strong beers).

UPDATED: APR 5, 2014 Iíve tried and tried and tried to like this beer. Pours a thin brown. Smells like sugar and alcohol. Too thin for an imperial stout with no viscosity and just an overall mess to me, taste follows the nose. Bruery does sours well but this just doesnít work

If you would like to smell & taste sugar (1000x), praline, coconut, alcohol - go ahead this is your beer. To me, this is just an unbalanced mess. I donít know you can call this beer. There is no malt presence and which beeryeast has such alcohol tolerance? Anyway, Black Tuesday refers to the Wall Street Crash of 1929 on the New York Stock Exchange. If all beers were like this; the beer market would crash for sure too. Tradetrap beer..

slight beige head that disappears fast without lacing. coffee colour. aroma is boozy, bourbon, sweet, coconut, vanilla rather overwhelming, but less artificial than CR. the taste is like the aroma, raisin just way too much sugar and syrup that just keeps on going. rather dense mouthfeel, soft carbonation. quite tiresome to drink. i liked it more than CR but not by too much, again too unbalanced and sugary imho and i donít get all the hype. bottle 75 cl / 2013

Boutip (4642) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 24, 2014
Bottle: Poured a clear light dark black color ale with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of rich thick black chocolate notes with light molasses and some roasted malt is quite sublime. Taste is an incredible mix of thick black chocolate with some roasted malt and some light molasses. Body is quite full with good carbonation and surprisingly no alcohol is easily apparent. Light oak and vanilla notes can also be detected. I was expecting somewhat of a messy overly sweet beers bit this is actually very smooth with plenty of complexity.

SHIG (3555) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Bottle: Poured a deep black center with brown edges, head was bubbles. Aroma was strong and filled my nose a good foot away: very rich chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, and dark fruit. Taste was rich dark chocolate, molasses, vanilla, and dark fruits in the finish.

Pours pitch black and inky smooth. Aroma is intense alcohol, my eyes stung as I stuck my face in the glass. Big roasted malts, oak and vanilla. Taste is silky smooth, loads of vanilla, roasted malts, small purple fruit and dry oak. Over everything is the blast of alcohol. Such a big, BIG beer. But so good.
