4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Super inky black color (as expected). Thick & with viscous lacing left around the glass. Thin layer of tan head.
Aroma is almost pure bourbon - it comes through so strongly that you really canít pick up much of anything else (possibly some hints of vanilla).
Flavor is a bit better with the maltiness fighting its way through the bourbon a bit more than in the nose. The sweetness makes itself known as well. Not bad by any means - I just prefer a bit more complexity.
Mouthfeel is great - the thick feel of this one really works well for this beer.
The finish is (not surprisingly) very strong and boozy - canít imagine Iíd be able to put way too much of this stuff - its a big bold bourbon bomb of a beer so if you like that sort of thing you will LOVE this.
Recommended, but maybe a bit underwhelming - just not as complex as Iíd hoped for - maybe with more time the bourbon would chill out a bit and mingle in with the other flavors but for me that overly bourbony aspect detracted from my overall enjoyment of the beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
My Bottom Line:
Molasses, chocolate and plenty of caramelized sugars merge in this heavy, warming Imperial Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the darkness.
-Mouthfeel remains velvety despite the intensity.
-Alcohol is obviously important in the flavor profile and body.
-This is quite reminiscent of DFHís World Wide Stout.
-This was aged nearly 6 years before opening, and as such allowed us to taste a properly smoothened version. Even though itís an extreme brew, time seems to have made it more approachable.
From a 2010 bottle, tasted in 2016.

To say that I was excited to have this was the understatement of the century. I canít think of a beer Iíve wanted to try more than Black Tuesday. A big thanks to Chris for letting my buy one of his bottles. This is going to be good.
Poured a black color with two fingers of fizzy tan head. Serene setting underneath. Decent spotty lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled sugary milk chocolate, smooth bourbon, toffee, caramel, dry cocoa, chocolate syrup, crayon, licorice, hints of molasses, figs, dark raisins and dark plum. Got boozier each whiff. (Smell - 4.50)
First taste was just awesome, definitely warming all the way down to my gut. Got sugary chocolate syrup, milk chocolate, rich caramel, creamy toffee, smooth bourbon, molasses, black licorice, creamy espresso vanilla and light woody oak. Huge warmth in my throat. Drinks like a port dessert wine or some other complex red wine. This is warm, but not super hot. Definitely drinkable. Amazing. (Taste - 4.75)
Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, surprisingly smooth finish. Perfect. (Feel - 5.00)
This was just incredible. Might be my favorite beer ever, knowing that Pliny the Elder and Younger might come down a tad once I rate them again. (Overall - 4.75)

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from trade with Michael (misterburd) -- thanks a ton, buddy! 2015 vintage (19.9%) The label says "Contains Alcohol" front and center, and boy do they mean it. This is so boozy that you can smell the alcohol burn as soon as it gets within 5 feet of you, but thereís so much flavor that it doesnít taste especially hot. Tons of chocolate and coffee flavor, like a double version of the biggest imperial stout youíve ever tried, mixed with a strong bourbon flavor that pairs really well with the alcohol warmth. Fantastic beer.

Bottle, shared with ktwse and kryon79 at Himmeriget. Pours an intense black with no head. Swirling it around leaves oily black lacings on the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, molasses, marinated raisins, vanilla, bourbon, oak, leather. Taste is dark chocolate bitterness meets caramel sweetness and a pleasant alcohol burn towards the end. Mouthfeel is very smooth and velvety with almost no carbonation

2014 reserve. Pours black with low tan head. Aroma of booze, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate... I want to make love to this beer... Taste is fiery rich bourbon, tons of alcohol, super sweet. This one can probably sit for 50 years... Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation. Warming alcohol finish that lingers until the cows come home...
