Incredible aroma with a thinner than expected pour, smoothest taste I have ever encountered and a warming mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at AZ Crew’s driveway tasting. Not sure which vintage but needless to stay this maybe one of the many reasons I ended up plastered this evening. Pours jet black with one finger beige head. Huge nose of brown sugar, molasses, and malt. Tastes of fudge, toffee, dark fruits, molasses, leather, chocolate, and boozy finish. quite sweet but a lovely dessert beer to be shared

Bottle @ ZeeBra Extreme Beer Festival 2013. Black pour, no head. Aroma of bourbon, alcohol, spicy, vanilla and licorice. Flavor is very warming alcohol, bourbon, sharp but still well balanced. Nice bourbon, but a bit boozy.

Bottle @ S&B#2 - 2012 batch. Pours very dark brown with a lacing and partly lasting frothy tan small head. Aroma is heavy malty with dark roasted malts, cocoa, bourbon, caramel, mint, dark chocolate, vinous, milk chocolate, prune, dark malt, coconut, dark syrup, oak and alcohol. Taste is heavy+ sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium+, texture is viscous and syrupy, carbonation is soft. Finishes heavy sweet with chocolate and burning alcohol. This beer might as well have it’s own style - perhaps something like an American Steroid Bourbon Strong Ale. An intense and refined experience also fairly drinkable despite the ABV.

kcorum10 (94) - Arizona, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Pours black with tan head. Sweet chocolate, vanilla, caramel profile with strong alcoholic backbone. This is one strong beer. With all the hype, I was a little let down, but still one of the best.

Deep black body, tiny head. Chocolate, bay leaves, bit of bourbon, salty. Strong concentrated taste, roasted, raisons, rum and more boozy. Tasty but way too strong to drink more than a tiny glass. Sticky base. Interesting and better than I expected. (ZeeBra)
