4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big nose of bourbon. Could almost pass as a liquor. Heavy booze but enjoyable. Taste is medium bodied with prominent booze. Drinking a 750 by yourself is not recommended. Get at least another person to help you out. But for the seasoned veteran, its just a starter.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Vintage 2011, 18.3%ABV
Thanks to pixieskid for sharing this one. It was a helluva night for beer.
When the crown was pried on this one, it was a gusher despite being fridge cold. The beer gushed maybe two ounces of beer, then immediately died out. Itís like the beer was force carbonated, but the carbonation never actually made it into the beer. Pours black and obviously viscous with complete opacity. I could smell this beast as soon as I tapped it - it was like a chocolate tawny port. The nose on the beer was amazing with stone chocolate, dates, malt, malt, malt. The alcohol on the nose is strong, if not intimidating, but oddly inviting - like a bully in school you really admire. The flavor of this beer is fucking awesome. I am not particularly articulate in this form of verse, but I can say this - that bitch is fine! Thick and flat, just like in the Rare BCS, the lack of carb was fitting to this beer and I believe allowed for higher appreciation of the notes. A sincerely delicious beer, it made me smile when I drank it. The beer won the night for me.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2012 bottle thanks to Bry for this! The second I took the cap off this thing my nose hairs started to vibrate...black thinish pour, slight bit of head. Aroma - good lord, itís like a rum soaked rasin, brown sugar, very superb. Taste - Great Odinís Ravin! There is nothing subtle about this beer, lots of sweet oak, booze, very mild carbonation (almost liquor like), more booze, hot sticky bourbon sweetness, very syrupy mouthfeel, some chocolate in the finish. What can I say... itís a big loud beer with a shit ton of sweetness but at 19% itís drinkable which I guess is a feat in itself. Itís almost like drinking a imperial stout with a few shots of bourbon dropped in... for sure not for everyone but I dig.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Was lucky to have a close friend share a bottle.Heavy red wine, tart grapes, raisins, port wine and faint chocolate aroma. Completely black appearance with no foam and no lacing. Taste is insanely intense with rich port wine overtones. Other notes chocolate, raisin, deep plums, grapes, dark chocolate, bourbon, rum, toffee, molasses. cocoa nibs, slick syrupy malts and juicy dark fruits. Overall, this beer is so sweet and is more reminiscent of a sweet port wine rather than a beer; let alone an Imperial Stout. Served cold, the alcohol is almost non-existent which astonishing for over 19% but as it warms, the alcohol really gets to your palate. The Imperial Stout style is really overwhelmed by the boozy barrel aging and the port wine overtones but there is some raisin, chocolate, cocoa nib characteristic there as well as slick, syrupy Barley Wine notes. Really something special. A+ rating.
