Pours a brown coco color with aroma of chocolate. Taste is clean with an everlasting choclate taste on the palate. A minor coffee taste with a vanilla bean hint. Overall an okay black lager.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Acquired in a trade earlier this year. Not sure who sent it my way. Enjoyed in a wine glass at fridge temp.
A - Pours medium brown to black with 1 finger of big bubbly head that fades slowly
S - Smells dominate with cheap malts and peanuts with a hint of chocolate and vanilla bean. Smells like Guinness Black Lager with vanilla added.
T - Taste is quite pleasant. Up front black malts, rye, peanuts, wheat and bread. Finish is chocolate like chocolate milk or lightly sweetened fudge.
M - Medium carbonation and nutty finish
O - Pleasant but in a 750, it’s a lot to handle just by myself

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cheers to kiefdog for the share. Pours a porter brown color with a tan head. Nose is chocolate, vanilla, some roasy notes, and a hint of lager. Flavor is similar to nose with big sweet chocolate, some light vanilla, some dark malt, and some lager yeast that lingers into the finish of this sweet beast.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a solid black with a decent sized tan head that slowly dissipates to a cap on top. Smells of chocolate and pilsner malt with a slightly spicy edge to it. The aroma is fairly simple, but very pleasing. The flavor is not what I expected from the aroma. I get a solid punch of milk chocolate with almost too much vanilla and bit of a smokey edge with the spice coming off the rye as well as a bit of oxidation. Silky creamy mouthfeel with a solid medium on the body and a light level of carbonation. Very nice brew that threw me for a second but got a lot better as I eased into it.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured into a tulip.
Smells of slightly spicy rye, and some doughy yeast notes, just a touch of coco powder, a slight hint of vanilla on the nose as well.
Dark dark dark brown just a shade less than pitch black really with a billowing beige head that dies down to nice cap of foam on top.
Tastes of toast, bread dough, almost no sweetness, super dry, a touch of cocoa powder, and spicy rye notes that linger on the palate.
Really nice mouthfeel, soft with smooth carbonation, and a slightly spicy finish.
Really loved the spice from the rye and the dryness of this beer. Kinda wish I had more of these, don’t know why I had the impression that I wasn’t a big fan when I first tried it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle. Clean fermentation. Spicy rye, slight chocolate, fruity notes, slight vanilla. A tasty beer. Very one dimensional due to the lager yeast. Nice and easy drinking.
